A Short Story Just For Fun!
It's that time of year when our lawns need mowing and yard work seems endless! Thank goodness Jason Donath has his 2 lawn care workers eager to help their Dad! Geddy Lee and Hazel earned their keep and the proof is very visible on Geddy's little legs! Green Looks Fabulous on him! Their Dad was so proud of how hard they worked that he took them on a shopping trip to Theisens to reward the kids! But what Geddy Lee and Hazel really wanted was their relaxing Spa Day at Groomingdales! Well it just so happens I was honored by their presence today and Green be gone! I did have to tell the kids though that rainy days are Fantastic for puddle jumping! 😉

Hemi's Christmas Gift
Goes to......
Daisy Bodenhofer!
With the guidance of Hemi from above, Ann picked Daisy's name out of 100+ names in the Paw Pal drawing! Ann had shared with me that she had asked Hemi to help her choose the perfect pup who would be delighted to accept such a gracious gift. This wonderful act of kindness was Ann's therapy to help her move forward without her beloved Hemi!
When Daisy's name was chosen, I was pleasantly amazed. After all of the hardships Linda Bodenhofer had endured in the past year from losing her husband Goen and then shortly after the loss of her fur baby Maggie. That was the Perfect name to have drawn!
It has been 1 month (Nov 20th) since Hemi had crossed the rainbow Bridge and Exactly 1 year today ( Dec 22nd) that Goen had passed away. Could this possibly be the Magic of the Christmas Spirit or a Divine Intervention from Hemi and Goen?!
The gift of Generosity brought these 2 wonderful ladies together to assure them both their Angel's are listening and have never left their lives! God Bless You Both and Merry Merry Christmas!🎅

A Gift From Hemi!

In the true spirit of giving at Christmas is exactly how I would describe Randy and Ann Nesteby! They have been family at Groomingdales for the past 11 years with their fur baby Hemi. He was such a special little gift to be around. Hemi traveled at high speed for his Spa Days! Unfortunately Hemi passed over the rainbow Bridge last month and is sadly
missed by many! In loving memory of Hemi his Mom created a wonderful gift basket for 1 of Groomingdales Paw Pals to receive! This basket is filled with so much love and wonderful gifts that it is going to be exciting to see who will be the fortunate pup! All names will be entered and next week Ann will visit Groomingdales to draw the lucky name! I will post the name next week! Good Luck to Everyone and may the Christmas Spirit be with us all!

Attention to All of Groomingdales Families!
There is a Respiratory Virus that is very concerning for the health and safety of our Paw Pals! If your family fur baby has recently developed a persistent cough, sneezing or difficulty breathing PLEASE contact your Veterinarian instead of entering Groomingdales for their Christmas Spa Day. This Virus is Very Contagious and can be Deadly so we all need to take this Seriously and be Respectful of each others Precious Pets Lives! I am looking forward to a Wonderful and Safe Holiday Season with All Groomingdales Families!

We celebrate veterans of every service who have contributed to building the finest military the world has ever seen. In today's world we all need a little sunshine to brighten our day. This is the Perfect time to do just that, introducing Daisy Bodenhofer!!! Daisy was born May 30th. She is a Malshi ( Maltese and shihtzu). She had her 1st Spa Day in September and now I'm sure everyone will enjoy her before and after pics along with Daisy and her Mom Linda!
Linda Bodenhofer certainly needed the sun to shine and for this little Daisy to bloom within her heart! It has been a very traumatic and devastating year for Linda. Her husband Goen, had passed away shortly before their 61st wedding anniversary. While trying to stay strong and continue on, her fur baby Maggie also passed away just a few months later. While Linda's wonderful family surrounded her with all of their love and support, her heart was beyond broke! With the love and concern of one special granddaughter along came Daisy!!!
There are never enough words to mend a broken heart but to let the light shine back in is a wonderful start! Welcome back Linda and Welcome Daisy!

I'm back and Vaca is almost over! You may know now by these few pictures as to where I had visited. Yes, South Dakota! If you're ever looking for beauty, peace and tranquility this state is a must see!!

Yes I am now on vacation time! Groomingdales will be closed from July 22 thru July 31st! I will be working on my bucket list 1 day at a time and soaking in every beautiful minute of it!

What a beautiful day to celebrate a birthday! Pictured below is Larry Schieltz, the proud Dad of little Miss Ruby who is celebrating her 2nd birthday! After a relaxing spa day at Groomingdales her Dad then surprised her with a sparkling new Happy Birthday bandana! Something tells me it's going to be a Tail Wagging Great Time at the Schieltz household this weekend!!!

I am so excited to share this picture of Harley Conner with his Mom, Kathy! Harley now holds the official record of Groomingdales Eldest Family Paw Pal Ever! I have been grooming him for nearly 1/2 of my grooming career. Harley had just turned 1 yr old when I first met him in 2005. Injust a few more days Harley will be Celebrating his 19th Birthday! I have been back to beautifying the puppy population for the past 2 weeks. Needless to say I don't quite have the strength in my arm yet, so I recruited 4 wonderful women to help me out. I want to Thank Cindy Flynn, Julie Nachtman, Lori Metcalf and Nancy Treanor for being good sports in my time of need! I seriously don't think I could have made it through without you! The bonus was meeting some of Groomingdales sweetest Paw Pals with wagging tails and puppy kisses! ❤️❤️

It's been a long 7 weeks being off of work but I now I have the ok to come back to my happy place, Groomingdales! It will take longer for me to groom but more sloppy kisses and tail wagging time with my Paw Pals! Now let the New Year begin!

Reaching the closing of 2022!

This year may not have had all of the dreams or expectations we had hoped for, this may be true. Looking back doesn't mean living in the past though for past memories to live within us for a lifetime. This year, 21 of Groomingdales and Groomingdales Families had lost their beloved fur babies! We Wish You A Merry Christmas! From My Home To Yours!

While these are not the pictures I had intended on posting sometimes life changes intentions so you just go with the flow.
So here are my boys, Sparticus and Timber, so impressed with their Christmas head bands! As you can see both need grooming extremely bad but again another one of life's changes! Oh well there is always next year!

For all of you proud Grandparents I have to share what I call "Brie's Tree". For every Christmas that I have been blessed with my Granddaughter, Lil Bit, in my life I have had a picture ornament made of her and have bought an ornament in which pertains to her interests for the year. My goal is to give her this tree and all of its ornaments when she becomes a young adult on her own. I'm hoping for 40 ornaments packed with years of memories and made with Love from Grandma! The wreath was made by Lil Bit 5 years ago while at a sleep over at grandma's, Fun Stuff!

So as important as Family is I just want to say " I really miss All of my Furry Friends and All of Groomingdales Families! I am looking forward to seeing all familiar faces very soon"!

Tis The Season

I hope all of my pups and peeps are enjoying the holiday season! I would like everyone to take a huge Bow-Wow for helping me reschedule their Holiday Spa Day! With everyone's love and support it was a very smooth transition into 2023! I've said it before and I still stand by it today, Groomingdales Families are Truly the Best of The Best!💝

Now a quick update on my broken wing. I seen my Dr. on Wednesday and new x-rays showed the bones are lining up where they should be! The healing has begun and all will be well again! Progress is a Plus!

Hello Everyone!
Just a quick update on a few things.
First off, it's been a week since I broke my arm and this is what I know thus far. It is broke upway to close to the shoulder to place a cast on it. It was a very clean break so no surgery required. The solution is to wear a sling for several weeks keeping it immobile for self healing. I will be getting more x-rays done next week to check on the healing progress. So that's all I know on this subject and will definitely keep everyone posted on my progress!
Next topic is everyone's Christmas grooming appointments. I have spent this week calling many of you one appointment after another and one day at a time. It is quite time consuming so please be patient for I will get to everyone. I have rescheduled all of my Paw Pals that had appointments thru December 14th and will continue to call you all. If you feel that I may have overlooked you or even if you need to contact me my home number is 563-582-4595. Please feel free to call with any concerns you may have. I do not receive text messages on my landline so please calls only.
I would also like to take a moment to thank the other grooming salons that have taken in a few of Groomingdales fur babies during the holiday season. It is gratifying to know that kindness and love of the Christmas Spirit Lives On!!

Thank You for your kind words and all of your support. I promise I will heal as quickly as possible. I survived cancer, I certainly can heal from a broken bone! It's just the most inconvenient time of the year. I love Christmas for many reasons and knowing there will be no Spa Days for all of my Paw Pals is very disappointing for me. Next year will be a Great Year for Us All! I will keep everyone posted on my progress!
