Stephanie adopted Harry this year, understanding that communication would be key to their success. She instantly enrolled him in our Day School Program to help this older pup learn new skills and to teach herself the skills needed to be a successful dog owner. Both have been committed to the training process and to each other from the start, making their journey an adoption success story!
A couple of weeks ago we had two lil’ pups from our Monday night socials stop by for their puppy baths and nail trims. Needless to say, our Groomer’s got their fill of wiggles and giggles for the day.

Every dog is unique, with their own set of training needs.Benny came to us after experiencing a difficult start to his life. Although now in a safe and loving home, Benny’s past experiences have left him emotionally closed off in many ways. It took Benny a full 10 days to feel comfortable enough to even pick up a toy in our presence—a testament to the careful, intuitive training required to create an environment where he could begin to enjoy life again.His training demanded extra precautions to ensure the safety of our other dogs on location and called for a clear and thoughtful reframing of what success would look like for him. Benny responded well to learning skills such as muzzling, holding place, heeling, and redirection—essential abilities to help him lead a fulfilling life. Success for Benny is a delicate balance of realistic expectations and compassionate training.Though Benny’s journey is ongoing, we are grateful to be part of it and incredibly proud of the progress he and his owner have already achieved 💛 We’d love to be part of your dog’s journey. The TMD On-The-Go! season kicked off last Thursday at one of our favorite locations here in Dubuque!The riverwalk made for a spectacular backdrop for all our TMD clients to practice their skills! Last week, our trainees had a nice little field trip to the Riverwalk. Although it may look simple enough, there are many new distractions present that test a pup's skills outside of our facility.
These field trips are essential for the development of our trainees and allow us to focus on each dog's individual needs. Whether it is working on their loose leash heel like Cece, Francie, and Luna did here, or relaxing and holding his place in "exciting" situations like Baxter, and more - we do it all!
Grooming Story
Not all grooming appointments look the same. Sometimes for a young pup or an inexperienced dog, the first grooming is all about feeling safe and loved. We love being a part of a dog's journey to happiness no matter what that journey looks like.
