Not everyday is an adventure in a puppy’s life… Stanley had to help with the daily chores around the house. It is important to acclimate the puppies to all kind of noises, equipment and routine’s. Stanley waited patiently with a happy wagging tail while the vacuum cleaner was being ran all around him. He never ran from it, barked at it or was scared of it. This was a successful training session while doing our everyday chores. Now if I could only teach Stanley to run the vacuum 😀
Please consider donating toward these pups training so they can give a Veteran a New Lease on Life.
….sorry for the out of focus on the video. 😀
It is important to build self confidence in the service dogs as puppies. Trying to eliminate any fear that they may feel when being introduced to something new in their environment.
This evening, Stanley was introduced to the “tunnel” as a fun way to train and enjoy the wonderful weather outside.
Stanley continues to excel in learning new things. We spent some time outside working on the “Look” command which keeps his focus on his handler. There was a lot of distractions which really test his ability to focus on his task. Stanley did an amazing job. As soon as eye contact is made … the marker word is given followed by his reward.
Good job Stanley.
