Selene - Available for Adoption on Petfinder
Selene is a gorgeous siamese kitty looking for her forever home through Planned PEThood of GA!
Selene wants a quiet place to learn to trust people. She is a shy kitty, but she has come so far and just needs a special family to call her own. Selene has slowly been warming up to people and has learned to love running around and playing with her toys. At this time, she is not a lap kitty but likes to hang around the office humans. We hope for a patient, loving adopter who is willing to help her continue to blossom.
Selene is positive for feline leukemia virus (FeLV) but is currently healthy. It would be best if she was an only kitty or in a home with other positive FeLV cats. Whoever adopts this sweet girl will be the lucky one. Is that you?

Cute little tortie baby getting bottle fed!
We try not to pull fully adoptable animals from our partner shelters. Our goal is to provide them with high quality spay/neuter surgeries and medical care, so that every animal can be adopted directly from their shelter.
However, sometimes there are special cases, including bottle babies like this. Shelters are just not set up to care for them around the clock. We took this little girl kitty into our foster program. Watch her thoroughly enjoy her third breakfast of the day!
Newton Outreach 3/25/2023. Helping 200 grateful dogs and cats!!
Even with horrible storms this morning, our Newton County Outreach is turning out to be a HUGE success!! We are flying through the lines, handing out free vaccines, microchips, flea meds, s/n vouchers and pet food and supplies. 200 pets down! We will be here until 1 pm. Very grateful to Halo House for Dogs, Petco Love, Atlanta Humane Society, and The Original Poop Bags,
It's shelter day at Planned PEThood of GA!! We love Wednesdays! Helping three rural shelters today get their animals spayed and neutered so they can head out for adoption already altered.
Hadyn, our Office Manager was on hand to help with check in and puppy chaos ensued! We decided to throw a few toys in the mix and record the adorableness to brighten your day. It's a PUPPY PARTY!!
This is your friendly reminder you can find animals of all ages and breeds in your local shelter, so please #adoptdontshop
INCREDIBLE stories! TWO lifesaving surgeries happened last week that came from our Walton County Outreach sponsored by Best Friends Animal Society. They would not have gotten the help needed if we were not there!!! Planned PEThood of GA was able to use over $1,200 in donated funds to help get these kitties surgeries done within days of the event. This could not have happened without donors just like you!
Your donations are CRUCIAL to helping us continue to provide these services! We have to replenish much needed supplies and funds for our next outreach.
$5 will provide a flea treatment
$25 will provide vaccines or a microchip
$100 will sponsor the spay or neuter of a dog or cat to prevent unwanted litters
Please help us raise at least $1,000 to supply much needed help to rural and underserved communities right here in Georgia. These pets deserve to stay in loving homes, with the families that care for them. They just need a helping hand. Will you donate today?
There were several heartwarming stories that we encountered on Saturday in Walton County and this is one of them!
This sweet woman had noticed a small, matted dog hanging out in an abandoned house in her neighborhood. Together with neighbors, they had fed her for a few weeks, but just the day before our event, Stephanie was able to grab her. Now named Bella, the dog is in desperate need of a good grooming. She has mats covering her entire body and that can be super painful! However, without a rabies vaccine, most groomers won't touch her.
We are honored that such a tiny gesture of kindness, wrapped up as a free vaccine, helps set Bella on the path to a wonderful future with her new family. We wish both Stephanie and Bella a lifetime of love and happiness together!
Back to our normally scheduled transports for our shelter babies! Today we were able to help 29 more dogs and cats get their spay and neuter surgeries, just in time to be ready for a Christmas adoption.
Though we have to say one thing, it was a taaaddd loud in the vans. There were at least 15 puppies and we gotta say, our drivers have the patience of saints! But the cuteness is well worth it ;)
200 pets helped in Habersham today!
Our outreach is hard at work! Helping 200 pets in Habersham County today. Can't wait to share some pictures and stories with you!
Our Outreach team was hard at work last week placing donations bins all over Gwinnett! So many companies have generously stepped up to collect much needed supplies for our rescue. During this month, we count on things like bleach, copy paper, sharpies, cat food, trash bags, gas cards and so many other items to be gifted so that we can start the year off on the right foot! Every item donated means we save money that can be reallocated to an animal in need!
If you would like to drop off an item to our rescue, please visit any of the locations listed below during their business hours! Or you can drop them off at our clinic Planned PEThood of GA Monday through Thursday. And for a list of thing we are desperately looking for, please see our wish list at https://pethoodga.org/wishlist/

We love our shelter pups! Very grateful to have five shelters on our Go Fix Georgia transport program, and are happy to help spay or neuter around 50 of their adoptable pets each week. Take a look at some recent cute faces!
Animals are surrendered to a shelter for so many reasons such as an unplanned litter, change in living situations, financial burdens, and more. There is no reason you can't adopt your next best friend! And did you know that up to 30% of shelter animals are pure bred? Next time you are looking to open your heart to a dog or cat, please head over to your local animal shelter or call rescue. Save a life instead!

Best Friends Outreach
One of the most important tenets of our outreach programs is the idea that we are simply partners with pet owners who want to care for their furry family member. These are not our animals, but ones that live in our community and just need a little bit of a helping hand to keep them healthy and happy in a loving home! We can't wait to get out and do more of these events this fall, and meet so many more caring owners with their adorable dogs and cats!
That being said, please meet Daria. She was excited to bring her baby, Dylan after he gave her quite a scare while she was on vacation! Planned PEThood of GA was able to offer his free microchip, so if he does go on another neighborhood walkabout without her, he can be quickly identified and brought home. :)
We are wrapping up an amazing day here at Best Friends Park in Norcross! With the help of some amazing partners, more than 300 pets and their owners have received assistance including vaccines from Petco Love, flea medication from Banfield Foundation, and spay/neuter assistance from Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement.
This event was in honor of Betty White and partially funded by the #bettywhitechallenge! It takes a lot of hard work to pull these events together. Thank you to our volunteers, staff, doctors, and partners. Until next time!
Please meet Kaley, Chupey and pack! They came out for our first vaccine outreach event with Newton County Animal Shelter this past Saturday. We were thrilled to help out a fellow rescue family with their animals by providing free services to keep them healthy and in their loving home!
Live at Turner Lake Park with Newton County Animal Services for our Go Fix Georgia vaccine outreach!
A success story from our first outreach with Habersham County Animal Shelter, from July of last year! Meet Billy, who brought Wayland out on our very first free vaccine clinic. Once Billy took advantage of the free vaccines, and followed up with the neuter for his dog, he was a believer! He brought his second household dog, Bentley, to us for the third outreach event to get the same loving treatment. We were able to provide the free vaccines and microchip for him, and hope to see him for his neuter soon. No unplanned litters because of these handsome boys!
Meet Ashley and her adorable kitty Llama Llama! (If that is the kitty's chosen name, that is what we will call her 😍 )
They came out to take advantage of our free vaccine clinic at Habersham County Animal Shelter. Ashley saved her from the euthanasia list at another shelter three years ago due to aggressive behavior. Since it's been a few years, momma knew it was time to get her shots updated. The amount of love poured into her kitty showed, as she was a perfect patient for us!
Announcing our upcoming Gwinnett County Outreach Event in honor of Betty White. This event is April 23 at Best Friends Park in Norcross and funded by Planned PEThood of GA, Petco Love, and Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement..
