Meet Bristol! This adorable pup came into our clinic this week from Hall County Animal Shelter through our Go Fix Georgia program. After his neuter surgery, he's headed back to the shelter for his chance at finding a forever home.

Each week, our Go Fix Georgia program helps rural counties with the spay/neuter surgeries they desperately need, helping to prevent future litters from being surrendered to shelters. Last month, our Go Fix Georgia program helped 95 cats and dogs from Hall County and Habersham County. Your support allows innovative programs like this to continue to save lives! Thank you! ❤

Meet Rob! Rob has a heart full of sweetness and a head full of curiosity. He's a mellow fellow, content with simple pleasures. Rob does have special needs but that doesn't slow him down. Despite his missing teeth, he's got a big, toothless grin that's contagious.

Meet Stripes! Stripes is a sweet girl. She is super snuggly and talkative once she comes out of her shell. She absolutely loves cat treats - she can hear the treat bag from anywhere in the house! She may be an older gal, but she still loves to play, especially with her crinkle ball.

We love our staff! Jasmin, our Foster & Wellness Manager, went above and beyond to help Coco last month. Sweet, playful Coco came into our Wellness Clinic severely matted. Coco's new mom brought her in for her vaccines after only having Coco for a few days. Coco's previous owners had recently passed. 😢 Jasmin told Coco's new mom that her fur was matted too close to the skin and that Coco would need a sedated groom. It would be too painful to groom awake.

Looking to help Coco out, Jasmin checked with our surgical team to see if they could help with the sedation part so Jasmin could groom Coco. With Jasmin's help, Coco was finally free of any matted fur. Since Coco doesn't have any fur and we're headed into chilly fall weather, we sent her home with a couple pieces of clothing to ensure she'll be warm. 🥰 Coco's mom was so grateful for Jasmin's help. We're so glad we were able to help Coco! ❤

Our KIRA Kids Club is back in session. This past weekend the kids enjoyed their first class of the season. The kids learned about foods that are healthy or dangerous for pets, and they got to meet a few very special kitties.🐈‍⬛ We love inspiring the next generation of animal activists!

In celebration of Pit Bull Awareness Month in October, join us for a very special Pit Bull Wellness Extravaganza to help keep pit bulls with their families! Friday, October 4th, our Wellness Clinic is excited to offer special services to pit bulls and pit bull mixes in need, including a wellness exam, rabies, distemper, and bordetella vaccines, heartworm test, microchip, and flea preventative. A $15 copay is due at the time of scheduling and will cover all of the services listed. Limit 2 pets per household. Pit bull and pit bull mixes only.

As the cost of owning a pet and veterinary care continues to soar, let Planned PEThood help! Our next Community Pet Clinic is one week away. Our team is heading to the Tadmore Elementary School Gymnasium (3278 Gillsville Hwy, Gainesville, GA 30507) on September 21st from 9 am to 1 pm. Pets will be offered FREE vaccines, microchips, flea preventative, pet supplies, and spay/neuter vouchers.

Please make note of the following restrictions:

Best Friends Animal Society generously awarded Planned PEThood $36,000 to assist medically fragile cats and kittens from three rural counties in Georgia.

Meet Indie, one kitten whose life has been touched by this extraordinary grant. 🥰Indie came to us from Newton County as part of a hoarding situation. During her pre-operative exam for her spay surgery, she was diagnosed with a grade 6 heart murmur, the loudest heart murmur. Indie needed care from an outside veterinarian for further evaluation of her heart. While Planned PEThood lacks the specialized equipment needed to safely perform Indie's spay surgery, the wonderful veterinary team at Tiger Tails Animal Hospital was happy to help.

Indie's progress and recovery will continue to be closely monitored thanks to this generous grant. No matter what Indie's future holds, she is loved and cared for in a foster home as she awaits her next steps. ❤

Meet Willow! Willow and her mom came into our Wellness Clinic seeking help. Willow had been struggling and her mom expressed concerns about the cost of getting testing done at a full-service veterinarian. Luckily, Willow was able to stop by Planned PEThood for an appointment. With Dr. D's help, Willow received all her vaccines, a heartworm test, and bloodwork to send for diagnostics to help figure out what was going on with her. Dr. D talked to Willow's mom about what she suspected was happening with Willow and gave her extensive information plus her bloodwork results to pass along to the full-service veterinarian Willow typically sees.

We're so glad we were able to help Willow thanks to supporters like you! It was a wonderful, heartwarming adventure. ❤

Meet Val, now named Olive! While on her way back from a vacation in Florida, our Foster Manager, Karen, stopped at a hotel in Valdosta, GA. She noticed several cats outside, one sickly-looking but extremely friendly. The hotel staff had been taking care of these kitties but told Karen that she was more than welcome to take sweet Val. Karen got right to work getting Val into a cat carrier and transported to safety.

Unfortunately, Val had terrible dental issues. After a much-needed dental surgery, Val only has one tooth left. Quickly after she recovered from surgery, Val was adopted! Here she is pictured heading home with her forever family. Her new family fell in love at a PetSmart adoption event and just knew Val would be the perfect addition to their family. She has adapted well to her new home and is lovely with her new human siblings. They say she is a champion biscuit maker. Happy life Olive! ❤

Look who stopped by our Wellness Clinic last week. Thanks to Greater Good Charities and Petco Love, Bella was able to receive three months of heartworm preventative and her annual distemper vaccine for free!

It's not too late to take advantage of this incredible wellness special! Now through the end of August, furry friends due for canine distemper or feline FVRCP core vaccines get'em free with a paid wellness exam while supplies last, a $20 value!
