Pumpkin is one of fall’s best superfoods for pets, but not all pumpkin is safe.
Stick to plain, cooked pumpkin (no spices, no sweeteners), and serve it in
moderation as a treat, not a meal replacement.

A huge thank you to our girls, Carlea and Heather!
Carlea has been with us for 3 years. She started with us as a kennel kid and worked her way up as head groomer after completing her dog grooming certification. Her favorite part of her job is getting to know her clients personally. She also says that seeing her end result when they're finished is very satisfying to her.

Heather has been with us for 3 years as well. She is our kennel manager, but also takes on the job as the head bather and grooms as well.
Her favorite part of her job is getting to love on all the animals and sending them home looking their very best.

We want to say we appreciate all you girls do for us here at Osage Animal Hospital.

As we wrap up the last day of Vet Tech Appreciation Week, we want to conclude with Lauren Green. Lauren has been with us at Osage Animal Hospital for 6 yrs. She is currently working to finish her Registered Veterinary Technician license.

When asking Lauren what she likes most about being a veterinary assistant, she said, "Every day I am learning as well as making a difference in a pet and owners life."
Lauren said the most rewarding part of her job is, "Reuniting pets that have been hospitalized for illness or surgery with their owners and seeing the relief and happiness on the owners face, knowing that I helped make that happen."
Lauren, we love that you are a part of the Osage family. We appreciate all you do for us and the animals.

As we continue celebrating Vet Tech Appreciation Week, today we turn the spotlight on someone who brings a sweet smile to every room she walks into. Courtney Morrow is a vet assistant who's currently working to finish up her registered veterinary tech license. For the past four years, Courtney has been a dedicated and valued member of our team at Osage Animal Hospital.

We asked Courtney why she likes being a vet assistant, and this is what she had to say, "The job is always fast-paced and hands-on. I am always learning new things, which makes the day enjoyable and every day is different."

She says her most rewarding part of her job is, "Creating long-lasting relationships with the pets and owners. The best part is seeing the patients recover and getting excited when seeing their owners. I love my job and all the fur babies."
We truly appreciate Courtney and all she brings to our clinic.

Day 2 of Vet Tech Appreciation Week, we'd like to introduce you to Cole McDonald. Cole started off as a kennel attendant and has worked his way up to a veterinary assistant after 9 dedicated years of being employed with us.

We asked Cole why he likes being a veterinary assistant, and here's what he had to say, "I've always loved animals and have a desire to help those in need. Getting to work with animals is a dream come true, and no day is the same as the last."
He says the most rewarding part of his job is, "To see the joy and excitement on an animals face after getting better. When they have more energy and are more friendly after being sick, that is the best kind of thank you."
Cole, we truly appreciate all you do for Osage Animal Hospital and our patients.

We'd like to introduce you to our registered veterinary technician, Angela Ruiz. Angela has been with Osage Animal Hospital for 7 years.

When asked why she likes being a vet tech, she said... "Working with animals truly challenges a person. It's being a voice for the animals that can't tell you what's wrong. It's being patient for scared or anxious ones and educating owners on how to give their animals the best life. The cuddles and puppy kisses are great, but the long days of helping the sick ones are where the fulfillment comes."
Her most rewarding part of the job: "It's not just a job to me, it's a pleasure to work alongside people's pets, treating them, nourishing them back to health and seeing people walk out of here feeling better about the care their pets are receiving."
Thank you, Angela, for your dedication.
