10:15AM Bunny 101 - Kurtis Marsh, Suncoast House Rabbit Rescue.
Whether you are thinking about getting a rabbit or already have one and would like know if what you are doing is right, this seminar goes over the basics of having rabbits.
11:15AM Bunny Bonds & Breakups -Sasha Munn, Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions
Sascha has been a volunteer with Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions, Inc. (ORCA) for over 6 years and is currently serving as their Vice President. She has 2 rescue rabbits that she bonded at home. She assists with ORCA's bunny speed dating events by sitting in the pen as a "bonder" during introductions. Speed dating has been a very successful avenue to educate the public about rescue rabbits, rabbit behaviors, the importance of spay/neuter, and the improvement in quality of life for bonded buns. Sascha will present the speed dating process and important tips to take home when trying to form a new bond between rabbits.
12:15PM Gastrointestinal Stasis in Rabbits - Dr. Kevin Kelley, Veterinary Emergency Group
Veterinary Emergency Group’s Medical Director Dr. Kevin Kelley will talk about the underlying causes of GI Stasis and will be happy to answer any questions revolving around what can be done at home.
1:15PM Rabbit Nutrition - Sara Hettle, CVT
Proper rabbit nutrition is essential for a healthy rabbit. Sara will talk about how and what to best feed your rabbits to keep them happy and healthy
2:15PM Advocating for Rabbits - Ashley Berke, Space Coast Bunnies
Rabbits are often an afterthought in legislation and their specific protections are often neglected. Be it adequate living conditions, banning the sale of rabbits in pet stores or any other legislative issue, Ashley will talk about how you can be a powerful voice for your furry companions.
3:15PM I found a baby bunny, now what? - Karyn Stochl. Blossom’s Bunnies Wildlife & Rehab
What do I do when I find a wild bunny? This question and more is something Karyn will explore. She is a licensed wildlife rehabber and specializes in the care of Florida’s wild bunnies.
