HOW TO AVOID A SCAM: RED FLAGS!
Cost: Purebreds are not cheap, so If someone is offering a low cost, red flag!
Location of the dog: if it is not currently in their possession or they have to “go get it” red flag.
Live viewing: They can not do a live view via zoom, FaceTime or some other app for you to see them live. Always an excuse. Red flag.
Register Breeder: look up the kennel/breeder. True reputable breeders will be registered! Red flag!
Location: Out of the country. While dogs can be shipped, consider how hard that is on a dog to be transported and how long it would take. A lot of people are scammed by oversea negotiations. Red flag.
Facebook profile: New profiles, not a lot of content, no pictures, no reviews, new profile, all RED FLAGS!!!
Phone: won’t talk on the phone to discuss purchase. Red flag
Contract: does not have a contract. Red Flag!
Deposits: Asks you to pay all upfront or will not deliver. Asks for a large deposit. Negotiate to what is fair! Never ever ever pay all upfront! Red Flag!
Desperation: Is desperate to get rid of pup, has to have money right away, has a sob story a mile long with nothing to back it up. Red Flag!
Pictures: No pictures of the pups. Looks like stock photos. You can drop of a photo in a google search bar and see if anything else comes up with the same picture. RED FLAG!
Remember, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is not true! Have someone take a look at what your doing.
Don’t be a victim!
