** SCAM ALERT ** One of our adoptees was (almost) hit this morning by a very clever scam involving microchip registration.

A company calling itself TRACK-A-PET contacted them with a seemingly legit email, all the details were correct. They were advised that the dog's microchip enrollment has expired and adopter needs to pay a fee to re-register.

DO NOT PAY !!! Once a microchip is registered there is no further fee to pay. No legit chip registration company will ever delete your contact info.

Please be aware and don't be frightened into paying these Track-A-Pet scammers.

P.S. In going over details, we are fairly certain it was either adopters' vet, or vet's preferred chip registration company (petlink.net ) that had a data breech. The chip itself was our brand, which was also dual-registered to our chip company. Our details were NOT used in the scam email, only the adopter's contact info & new dog name.

MEET THE DOG(s)... Oskar!! Oskar is a sweet & sassy wiener who is looking to settle into a furever home. He is a professional snuggler & loves most humans, just no small ones please!

Oskar's hobbies include sleeping under covers, sunning himself on the deck, watching TV & batting his BBE's (big brown eyes) at you for any snacks you may want to share? Canine minions are cool and chilln' with his foster fur-brother is fun. However, very large dogs or hyper-happy alpha types who want to be all up in his face are not Oskar's cup of tea.

Oskar did have some injuries from his prior life when he came to rescue, but has fully recovered & ready to go home. His canine dentist (ok, vet) also says his teeth are in great shape.

He is housetrained and leash trained, loves to go on walks, & ride in the car. Oskar is okay with crates, but much prefers hanging around the house & would LOVE to snuggle with you in the "big bed" at night if allowed. Oskar would be suited to apartment living provided you agree to carrying HRH (his royal hound-ness) up & down any stairs, as all nobility should be!

It's International Blind Dog Day! This is Hallie who was such an amazing dog and companion to our friend Dee Dee Murry.

Dee Dee wrote a book about Hallie called "Puppy Picasso: the true story of a little blind dog who could paint". It's an amazing story about an incredible little dog.

MEET THE DOG(s)... Cornbread!! Also known as Corndog the Magnificent, Nonodangyou, & Stophumpindat. He is a man of many names & mystery, but not a lot of history.

This saucy southern boy was found wandering north of the Mason-Dixon line in search of, well we're not sure, but probably ladies to love. Sadly, his recent "date" with a vet ended his romance period. Cornbread is now seeking a new family to herd... errr.. love.

Cornbread's hobbies include chasing shy dogs, barking at squirrels, playing with his furry friends (the outgoing ones), & cuddling in the big bed. He is housetrained, leash trained, & loves riding in the car (to places other than vet). Fluffy squeak toys don't stand a chance & Cornbread is usually up for raiding the trashcan, but only if there's a buddy around he can pin the blame on.

Cats & small critters are probably a no, but school age humans are OK. An active home with a fenced yard would be paw-some.

These tips can never be shared too often. I have always stayed home with my weens on the Fourth. I'm not a fan of fireworks either. Mighty Moo and I will be spending tomorrow evening on the couch with him on my lap covered with a blanket, Netflix with the volume up, snacks and a frozen peanut butter Kong. I really worry most about the wildlife, the squirrels and birds I feed every day. Plus raccoons and possums and bunnies and turtles. Even the lizards. Horses, cows, farm animals. I know there are a lot of you who feel the same 🥺

Hi! Anyone have a key to this puppy prison cell? I'm planning to stage a jailbreak & looking for some new humans who can help hide (adopt) me so I don't have to go back.

I mean, can you believe I only get 2... err... 1 tiny meal per day? And running around for hours non-stop is considered "high-energy" ? Besides, I have *allegedly* killed all the squeaky fluff toys & the warden here says I deserve a "life sentence somewhere else" for that "crime"? Pffft
