CAUTION: LONG POST ALERT BUT PLEASE READ AS WE HAVE SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOU!!!

Hi clients and friends of BBVC! In case you haven't heard, in the last month we have added TWO exciting new features to make yours and our lives easier!

First, we have a new client pharmacy called Blue Rabbit which we are using to facilitate online prescription refills. Prices on Blue Rabbit should closely match Chewy and other online pharmacies and will more smoothly integrate with our medical record system which will make filling online prescriptions so much easier and save our doctors' time! https://bbvc.bluerabbitrx.com/

Second, we have gone live with PetDesk, a client communication platform. https://petdesk.com/download-app-for-pet-health/
This means several things:
1. You can download the PetDesk App and have instant access to your pet's vaccine records, your upcoming appointments, and your in-house medication refills. You should have gotten an activation email through our system- if you did not receive this, you may need to call us with your active email.
2. WE OFFICIALLY HAVE TEXTING!!!! You can text us at our main hospital line (970)247-4701 and we can text you back. And you can even send us pictures this way! But PLEASE, do not use this service if you need an immediate response or you think your pet is experiencing an emergency. Calling our hospital is still the best way to get ahold of us. Similarly, texting will only work during our regular office hours.
3. We are now sending out confirmation emails and texts and you can confirm your appointments online. This means less bothersome phone calls demanding your reply!

NOTE: We are not allowing online booking of appointments. Depending on your pet, what's going on, and our already busy schedule, allowing you to use the appointment booking features just opens up more doors to problems. So for appointment scheduling, please continue to give us a call.

Also, we are all still learning this system so please be patient with us as we learn how to best utilize these new platforms for everyone's benefit!

Thank you all for your support and donations at the 5th annual pictures with Santa Paws. It was a blast and we brought in around $1,700! That will be enough to approximately spay/neuter and vaccinate 16 dogs or 35 cats! DSNiP offers services to those in need with the help of donations, grants and subsidies. They are able to utilize donations such as BBVC "Pictures with Santa Paws" to help so many animals in our community.
Thank you all again and we look forward to seeing you all next year!

We're very excited to announce that we will be using an online pharmacy called Blue Rabbit starting October 15th! We'll be able to get your pet's meds delivered to you faster and more easily than other online services.

Why the change?

Although we know that many of our clients use Chewy.com (and others) for online prescription refills, it takes our doctors a lot of time to approve all of these requests; time that we would rather spend giving our patients quality care.

Using Blue Rabbit will save us valuable time and keep our costs down, at no additional cost to you. You'll have an easy-to-use client portal and be able to track your pets' medications, so you'll know exactly where they are and when to expect them.

Keep your eyes out for an email to set up your online account. And let us know if you have any questions. We hope this will make all our lives a whole lot easier!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Archi is here to say that he, along with many of our pets, would looove to sneak some turkey, ham, stuffing or whatever is left uncovered tomorrow… so please keep all those tasty dishes out of paw’s reach!

Foods like onions and garlic can be very toxic to our furry friends and rich foods like ham can cause gastrointestinal issues like pancreatitis.

Our office will be closed Thursday and open again at 8am on Friday. If you need help after hours, please call the rotating Durango emergency on-call line (this number can be found on our voicemail message at 970-247-4701). If you think your pet has ingested something they shouldn’t have, please call the Pet Poison Hotline at 888-426-4325.

It’s Vet Tech Appreciation Week! Jill Brazell CVT is our amazing Lead Tech and has been working with the Baker’s Bridge Team for THIRTY YEARS! We love her ever-positive attitude and were so happy to celebrate her officially receiving her license last year. Jill loves playing agility, going on spontaneous road trips, mid-day iced teas and singing goofy songs at work. She’s usually leading a pack of border collies wherever she goes and does much-needed awesome work with Western Border Collie Rescue. Next time you see Jill, make sure to share your appreciation for all she does for our animals! ♥️🐾
