My mother in law🙂 She is the one that takes care of my pups and piggies when we go out of town. She is also working in the salon as a bather most Wednesdays. I believe she still has some Thanksgiving availability left… not sure about Christmas for overnight care clients but last we spoke about it she still has openings for in home visit clients

I said I felt two on one side and one in the other… and I was right!!! Andrew made reservations to take me to the Angus Barn for the first time so of course Amy Swinehouse went into labor 😂

Everything went smooth and the piglets are doing well so far. Both neighbors, Grammy Julie Peters and Great Grammy Jeanne Peters have all visited and Amy has been relaxed and accepted visitors happily. You would never even guess she was completely feral just one month ago!!!

Grammy Julie made it here in record time, and the one neighbor said her hubby texted her at work and said Amy was in labor so she excitedly told her coworkers and they said “so why are you still here?!?!” So she left and rushed over too lol (Kristy Hales Thompson it was Paige😂)

Today/tonight should be the day/night… Amy Swinehouse started attacking everyone (animals) this morning, so Swinona and the dogs have been taken out front to potty to give Amy space to relax, and she has started building her nest! She even stole the blankets out of the doghouse and brought them into the farrowing pen:) She has gotten snotty with Andrew but the only thing she has done to me was try to rip my shirt off of me to nest with… no idea what her opinion will be when the babies arrive but so far I’m definitely the only one she doesn’t mind near her… but I also am the one that gives her all the nom noms!

Amy Swinehouse is almost touching the ground with that belly now! I’ve got an outdoor pen built and the kitchen set up for farrowing… plenty of towels, heat lamp, gloves and l**e in case of stuck piglet, little snips for clipping the tips of their milk teeth, chlorhexidine spray for their umbilical cords, iron dextran to inject the piglets at 3 days old, extra straw, hay, piglet feed… already had other supplies on hand but got them organized and ready…oxytocin, calsorb, pain reliever if needed for mama, disposable scalpels for castrating the boys when it’s time (and a little lidocaine although it isn’t normally used but I will because I just can’t imagine doing it without!), dewormers, thermometer, electrolytes, honey… only thing left is to order vaccines but waiting until they arrive so I have a head count! Soooo… I may be a lil bit over prepared lol I even have blankets and pillows ready to sleep on the kitchen floor with her if she wants or needs me!!! I gave her her ivermectin dewormer last week and started a 3 day fenbendazoke course yesterday as well as ponazuril to clear any remaining parasites from her since piglets usually aren’t dewormed until 6 wks old so want mama cas clear as possible, even doing the dogs and Swinona and keeping the yard impeccably clean for the next few days… I may be nesting more than Amy haha. I am never this way with my puppies!!!
And poor Swinona sprained her right front leg yesterday so I’ve got her on an anti-inflammatory and doped her with Tramadol last night night (have to admit she was adorable when it hit her and she would lift her head just enough to eat some ice cubes last night but ooooh my did she sleep good lol) she is not limping today and the swelling has gone down so I’m going to give her one more dose of Meloxicam this morning and hopefully she will be good from there.
I raised two boys that if they had cut their leg off I’d tell them to rub some dirt on it and that’s what they got for doing something stupid… tough love style lol… but I am over the top rediculous with these 🐷 🐷’s but in all fairness… they are much better behaved than my boys were too!!! We have piglets on the way!!! From feral scared piggy to a sweet and housebroken companion within only 3 weeks… our new little Amy Swinehouse had more mammory development than I thought was normal. Because I had my Swinona Ryder spayed early, I didn’t have experience with pig heat cycles and thought it may be due to that. The guy we bought her from said there was ZERO chance she could be pregnant. Well, she definitely is and they are moving all around in there! So now I’m doing all my research on farrowing and raising piglets… that I believe will arrive within the week! So if anyone knows of anyone that is considering a PET piggy, send them my way!

Thinking it’s time to get rid of some excess stuff since it is coming up on tax time…
07 Ultra Classic 10.5 as it sits or listing at 11 if I get the work done (needs radio, new bolts on one of the bags, and exhaust pipe tightened)
08 Impala 4.5 only 130k miles (runs perfect has exhaust leak I haven’t gotten fixed and needs new tires on the front, driver door has a small gap, but opens and closes just fine and doesn’t let any moisture in then that way for two years now and there is a small dent on the trunk)
I will get out and get them cleaned up and take fresh pictures for the marketplace listing. Just putting this out here in case anybody knows anyone looking you can send them my way :-)
