How cute is this team?! 🤩 OINK (the pup) is receiving some TLC and Cold Laser Therapy after having a rough tooth extraction.

The main clinical benefits of laser use in pets include decreased inflammation, decreased pain, and improved wound healing. And not to mention how cute your pet looks in the little goggles! 😎

📣 Urban Tails fam!!! 📣

We have some exciting news!!! Please help us in welcoming our newest Veterinarian, Dr. Zan!! 🎉🎉

A little about Dr Zan: "As a child, I enjoyed collecting lizards, snakes, turtles, cats, dogs and really any animal I found and bringing them in the house to keep (pro tip: this doesn't tend to make your mom love you more). I've worked with small exotics, large carnivores and everything in between. Ultimately, I ended up managing a companion animal ER/ICU and realized I wanted to become a veterinarian.

Throughout my time in veterinary medicine, I realized how much I enjoy client education. Patient care and outcomes are often improved if clients understand the 'why.' A Fear Free environment aids my ability to educate clients because there are fewer distractions and reduced stress surrounding visits.

In my free time, I enjoy renovating my 1950s-era house, DIY projects and yoga. I have four dogs, a cat that thinks he is a dog, and a human (Tom). Tom and I enjoy spending time on the beach or in the mountains with all of our critters. I enjoy reading, nerdy tech things, and binging a good true crime podcast."

We are so excited for her to join our team and we know you are going to love her! 💓

☀️ With the heat wave we are experiencing this weekend, we wanted to remind everyone of some important tips to keep your pet safe in the heat!

🔥 If it’s hot outside for you, it’s even hotter for your pet. Leave your pets at home if possible when you need to go out and about.

🔥 Make sure your pets have unlimited access to fresh water, and access to shade when outside.

🔥 Never leave a pet in the car, even in the shade or with windows cracked. Cars can overheat quickly to deadly temperatures, even when the weather isn’t severe.

🔥 Avoid hot surfaces, such as asphalt, that can burn your pet’s paws. Don’t walk, run or hike with a dog during the hottest parts of the day or on particularly warm days.

🆘 SIGNS OF HEAT STRESS 🆘
Seek emergency veterinary care if you observe any of these signs:

Anxiousness
Excessive panting
Restlessness
Excessive drooling
Unsteadiness
Abnormal gum and tongue color
Collapse

Please make sure your pet has some kind of identification before July 4th. 🥺

Every year, the days leading up to and following the 4th of July, shelters everywhere fill up with animals frightened by fireworks.

While I honestly wish fireworks were never used, that's something that will never happen.

Currently, many shelters are at maximum capacity and there's no room to house anymore animals. While some shelters claim to be "no kill", don't be fooled, EVERY shelter has to make difficult decisions.

Please....beginning July 1st, put a phone number on your pet. You don't have to spend any money. Grab some tape duct tape works great and a sharpie or a ink pen and make the minimal effort to keep your pet from ending up at a shelter.

Even if you think there's no way they can or will escape your property, just do it.

If you love your pet(s) it's your job to protect them.

Finding a stray animal with a phone number makes it SO SIMPLE to reunite them with their owner.

Let's make a difference this holiday and keep animals from ending up at the shelter.

Please spay/neuter your pets.

Of course, we'll have drinks from the amazing Mystic Farm and Distillery and treats from Michelle’s Baking Obsession, LLC .
