Stress-Free Holidays 👍✨

Ensure your furry friend stays safe with our tips:

🎄 Beware of Toxins: Chocolate, alcohol, tree preservatives, and mistletoe can be harmful if eaten.

🎁 Watch That Wrapping: Dispose of wrapping paper, ribbons, and bows to avoid tempting chew hazards.

💡 Candle Caution: Keep an eye on decorative lights. These can pose a serious electrocution hazard for pets.

Microchip Your Pet Before The Holidays 🎄✅

Did You Know that pets with microchips are three times more likely to be reunited with their family?

Microchips provide your pet with a permanent ID that stays with them for life. If your pet goes missing, you are far more likely to find them if they are microchipped.

Story time!
This smiling mustachioed dog is Boo (aka Booberry biscuit to us) and he has one heck of a story!
Boo has a congratulatory card because Monday 12/2 was his final visit to us for management of a dog bite wound he sustained July 22nd. That’s right- we’ve been seeing Boo multiple times per week ( for bandage changes and complex sutures and hair trimming and topical medication application and even a fish skin graft) for 19 weeks! Not only was the size and placement of the wound complicated but he had some very stubborn skin bacteria. His owners really stepped up with at home care living with him in a cone and all wrapped up in a bandage sleeve. Boo was excited every day he arrived to CPAH and now he gets to spend his days free from all the accessories and finally grow back the long hair on his side that will likely cover up his impressively small scarring.
Also major props to Dr. Hoel for managing Boo’s case and using the best available techniques to get him to this point. With a lot of love and good medicine, we hope we don’t have to see Boo again until his normal annual exam!

Reminder: Cold Weather Safety 🚨❄️

As temperatures drop, it’s crucial to protect your pet. Here’s a few tips to keep your furry friend safe and cozy:

☑️ Limit Outdoor Time: Keep outdoor time short and do not leave your pet in a cold car.

☑️ Provide A Warm Place To Sleep: Keep your pet’s bed elevated and away from any drafts.

☑️ Avoid The Salt: Salt can help keep us safe from slipping on ice, but can cause severe irritation to delicate paw pads.

Feel free to contact our team with any questions about winter safety. We’re here to help! 💙
