Happy Holidays! This is my business manager, Shelly. She's a feral cat that has adopted Land of Paws as her home. She loves to watch me groom and oversee the comings and goings.

This is also a reminder that I am raising prices in March. Cats and dogs under 25 lb. will go up $10. Dogs over 25 lb. will go up $20. I realize this is a large increase. I honestly don't like raising prices, but it must be done in order to keep my business thriving for years to come. If this constitutes a hardship, please talk to me personally.

Happy Veteran's Day! Do you have the day off work today? If so, look to your 2024 calendars! I am now booking appointments for 2024 and they are filling up fast. If you normally book your grooming appointments ahead for the year, now is the time to get your preferred dates. The best way to do this is to send me an email at [email protected] and request your appointments, and I'll do my best to get you booked in. Thank you for your continued loyalty!

This is also a reminder that there will be a price increase effective March 1, 2024. Small dogs (under 25 lb.) and cats will increase by $10 per visit. Dogs over 25 lb. will increase by $20 per visit. I realize that this is a significant increase, so if this poses a hardship, please contact me personally.

Hope everyone had a great Labor day weekend! It's September, and if you schedule your pet's appointments ahead, it's time to pull out your 2024 calendars. Now is the perfect time to get your preferred appointment dates, for as far ahead as you want. Some of you book out a year at a time, which I love!

The best way to secure your appointments is to email me at [email protected] with a list of your preferred dates for 2024. That way, we both have a written copy to refer to if needed.

I must disclose that I will be raising prices on March 1, 2024. Cats and small dogs 20 pounds and under will go up $10 per visit. Dogs 20+ pounds will go up $20 per visit. I realize this is a large increase. This is what I need to keep my business running and thriving into the future. I love my job and have no current plans for retirement.

If this price increase presents a hardship, please contact me privately.

This is my new boss. Her name is Shelly. You may see her when dropping off or picking up your pet. Shelly is a feral cat that showed up a few years ago, and has adopted Land of Paws as her home. She's getting used to people and dogs. If you see her, say hi!

Some dogs come to the groomer acting like they're going to die. But 9 times out of 10, your dog is fine as soon as you go out the door. It's like dropping kids off at daycare. This isn't my video, but it nicely illustrates how this works. :)

I spent a couple of hours on a Sunday teaching some folks at Canine Connection how to properly bathe, dry, and brush dogs. My students were great. They were willing and able to try new things, and had some good questions. I know some of my clients go to Canine Connection for boarding and daycare, and having their team members trained in bathing and brushing is a huge perk for everyone!

This is a feral cat that showed up on our property about two years ago. we trapped, spayed/vaccinated, and released her. We named her TortoiseShelly, or Shelly for short.

Just in the past few weeks, she has discovered that petting feels good, and today she decided to explore the grooming shop while I was cleaning. If you see Shelly on the porch, say hello to her before she runs away. Right now, I’m the only person who can touch her.

Land of Paws has finally come into the century, and we've upgraded our communications. We just got Starlink and now have decent internet. I got a new computer, a new iPhone for the business, and a new Square credit card system. Bear with me as I learn this new technology. I think it's going to be a great improvement! Starting tomorrow (July 12), there will be road work on the Midway which they say will cause up to 20 minute delays. :( Unfortunately there is no alternate route to Land of Paws, so plan your time accordingly. As of today, June 15 2021, the mask mandate has been lifted for those who have been fully vaccinated against COVID. I am fully vaccinated, and I hope you are too! I will still mask and do curbside service for those of you who prefer it, but otherwise, you may see my naked smile! Thanks to everyone who has been taking precautions during the pandemic.

Important Salon update!

I will be returning to having clients welcome to come inside now that I am fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In an abundance of caution I will stay masked until the experts no longer recommend it.

Upon arrival, you may notice that my salon door is still locked. I’m going to continue to use this safety measure to be sure clients are ushered in at their scheduled appointment times so that the animal that I am working on at my table or tub remains safe.

Unexpected or early arrivals interrupt my steadily working and cause the dogs in the kennels to erupt in barking. This also excites the pet on the table which could result in injury. However, since plenty of my clients really like "curbside" services, I am more than happy to come out and pick up your pet and return them curbside, just let me know your preference and I’m happy to accommodate!

**UPDATE** I now have water thanks to G & S Pump Service! All previously scheduled appointments are intact.

Dear clients: If you have a scheduled appointment for 2/26 or 2/27, we may have to reschedule. Sometime early this morning our well went out, so we have no water. The pump guys cannot get here until tonight at the earliest. Thankfully, Thursdays are my day off so I didn't have to cancel anyone today! I hope this can resolved ASAP.
