Not everything we hear about pet care is true! Let’s bust some common myths:
🚫 Myth: Cats always land on their feet.
✅ Truth: Cats are agile, but they can still get hurt without proper safety.
🚫 Myth: Dogs and cats only need heartworm, flea, and tick prevention in the warm months.
✅ Truth: Dogs and cats should be on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention year-round. Even if you have an inside-only cat or mini dog, they still need protection!
Our pet of the week is Finnegan! Finnegan gets a gold star this week for being an absolutely purrfect patient (with bonus points for his dashing good looks 😉). He says his favorite part of his visits to Park are being hand-fed Churu during his exam and yearly labwork! Good job Finnegan, we can’t wait to see you next year!

This is Poppy, our patient of the week! Poppy recently tested positive for Parvovirus. Parvovirus is a very contagious virus that can cause severe vomiting, diarrhea, and in extreme cases, even death. Poppy was fully vaccinated against the disease, but as with most vaccines, they are not 100% effective. But because we have proof that her vaccines were given in an appropriate manner, the manufacturer is covering her treatment. Poppy is expected to make a full recovery!!

Our surgery patient of the week is Max! Max is owned by the family of one of our team leads Dana. Max was a stray that found Dr. Carroll 10 years ago in Durham by climbing in her car one day! Dr. Carroll brought him to the clinic where he found a home with our staff member and eventually went to live in Detroit Michigan. He moved back to NC in 2019. Lots of traveling for this special boy!
