π‘When you have a true leadership relationship with your dog it really does not matter whether if you share food from the table or not. Even if they come to seek the food (Begging). I decide what, when and how I give them access to not only food but anything I believe is constructive to give them access."An expert can break the rules" πBut in the case of true leadership you don't have to be an expert. Just don't be a pushover, establish boundaries and expectactions and make sure you see it through.β€οΈ. ***Sorry for the mispelling in the video, should have said "Of the table or from the table" but not redoing the whole video*** #dogtraining #dogtrainer #dogsofinstagram #dog #durhamnc #northcarolina #dogtrainingtips #dogtrainingadvice
Arousal management: 1. Condition yourself to not be activated by your dog's bids for engagement. Engage with your dog randomly and when it is least expected. 2. Define places for adrenalizing activity (Best outdoors) and places for not expecting aroused activity (Inside the home). 3. Do not expose your dog to arousing situations (meeting strangers, other dogs...etc) where you can't have control of the other party's influential actions on your dog's mindset. 4. Arousal activities begin and end with your decission not the dog's. Sense of safety management: 1. Give your dog a "sacred" place of his or her own where they will never have to mediate strangers. Your guests are yours, your dog does not know them. 2. Frequent places where you and your dog can experience nature without so many influences from outsiders. 3. Establish leadership skills through the constructive process of agreements and disagreements. Such will create trust in your dog that you will manage the unavoidable "unknown" for him or her. 4. Socialization is being in unison with you being neutral to third party influences. 5. Shelter your dog and bail out of situations you can not control. 6. Realize that your dog acts on an instinctual mode not a rational mode, from your human perspective your dog should handle all stimuli, but again, that is YOUR HUMAN PERSPECTIVE. ***IS LEARNING THEORY ENOUGH***
ππ§ ππ§π»
While Skinnerian and Pavlovian paradigms are helpful in capturing a picture of a section of the mechanics of learning, it falls short to depict the complexity of interaction between two living beings.
Think of the difference between abacus computing and advance neural network computing but in a biological sense.
A state of mind, goes further than a mere "lever press" action.
π€π€WHAT IF?π€π€
YOU...
π Understood the commitment?
π Were up for the sacrifice?
π Were not so frivolous?
π Had the right priorities?
π Made it not about you?
π Made their well being really your priority?
π Decided safety is number 1?
π Became an effective caretaker?
π Gave your dog what they really need?
π Became worthy of caring for a life?
IF YOU DID? YOU WOULD TRULY BE THEIR BEST ADVOCATE. BECAUSE YOU TRULY LOVED AND YOU TRULY CARED.

β¨The Magicβ¨
You become one and the world around is just noise in the background. The magic happens by connecting in terms of what is expected.
95% of the dogs you will encounter will be reactive. But that is a world aside from yours if you choose to.

The process of constructive agreements and disagreements works wonders to discourage dogs (Or any animal) from maladaptive actions which can develop into unsafe or nuisance habits.
If you have not conditioned your dog to stop when you disagree with their actions you are missing a huge component in your efforts to create a safe and healthy life for you and and everyone involved.
Here Vidin stops after I disagree with his intentions of going to check out our cows. He is learning to habituate to them and not see them as prey.
Will they KILL the βvarnmintβ?
