Please share... Unfollow "dog inluencer" Zak george from your socials. His irresponsible actions to disseminate incompetent dog advice hurts dogs.

Friends, it’s time to address a pressing issue within our dog training community.

ZG a social media influencer clown who generates noise for attention and stands against the core values we uphold as dog trainers, while lacking even the bare minimum dog training knowledge!
He tries hard to be relevant in our industry, but the reality is ZG has ZERO DOG TRAINING SKILLS or understanding of dog behavior.

He thrives on creating conflicts and spreading misleading information across social media, amassing views and followers. Making money from advertising dog products and is able to do so *only because We interact with him. His ignorance and extreme lack of knowledge are infuriating, and it's time we all take a stand.
My call to action is simple but Powerful: unsubscribe from all his media channels, unfriend and block him on every platform, and never tag or respond to his posts. By doing this, we will stop supporting his manipulative tactics and of course the algorithms

Not because a dog behaves in problematic ways in the eyes of humans means that such dog has a brain chemical imbalance that needs prescription drugs.

Most dogs behaving in such manners deemed unappropiate are only expressing their instinctual genetic temperament in certain degree of magnitude.

Psychotropic drugs are mostly obsolete in addressing dog behavior and it is wishful thinking. A waste of time, resources and delaying true resolution.

Use of drugs have become so prevalent that almost 40% of dogs that come into our care are under one form or another of these drugs.

Such widespread use has also lots to do with antropomorphism, rather than sound specific species ethological knowledge and hands on practice/experience.

Arousal management: 1. Condition yourself to not be activated by your dog's bids for engagement. Engage with your dog randomly and when it is least expected. 2. Define places for adrenalizing activity (Best outdoors) and places for not expecting aroused activity (Inside the home). 3. Do not expose your dog to arousing situations (meeting strangers, other dogs...etc) where you can't have control of the other party's influential actions on your dog's mindset. 4. Arousal activities begin and end with your decission not the dog's. Sense of safety management: 1. Give your dog a "sacred" place of his or her own where they will never have to mediate strangers. Your guests are yours, your dog does not know them. 2. Frequent places where you and your dog can experience nature without so many influences from outsiders. 3. Establish leadership skills through the constructive process of agreements and disagreements. Such will create trust in your dog that you will manage the unavoidable "unknown" for him or her. 4. Socialization is being in unison with you being neutral to third party influences. 5. Shelter your dog and bail out of situations you can not control. 6. Realize that your dog acts on an instinctual mode not a rational mode, from your human perspective your dog should handle all stimuli, but again, that is YOUR HUMAN PERSPECTIVE. The process of constructive agreements and disagreements works wonders to discourage dogs (Or any animal) from maladaptive actions which can develop into unsafe or nuisance habits. If you have not conditioned your dog to stop when you disagree with their actions you are missing a huge component in your efforts to create a safe and healthy life for you and and everyone involved.
