And this beauty is our foster, Blair! While both of our new fosters look alike, they are unrelated. They have had their spay/neuter surgery and are with us for recovery and a little more socialization. We will give them all the love they need! 🖤

We got two new foster cats! This is Loki, he’s a bit on the shy side but so sweet when you hold him! He purrs immediately and loves scritches! We think he’s soooo handsome!

This sweet girl got a rough start. She came to Nashville Cat Rescue from a hoarding situation. Sweet Lacey came in very malnourished, dehydrated and very pregnant. Unfortunately, upon exam, her babies had no heart beat and an emergency spay was required. She was a little under 5 pounds when she came to us and is almost 7 now and thriving! Lacey regularly seeks out her foster mom’s attention. She likes to talk in her quiet sweet voice, she’ll ask for pets. She seems to do well with other foster cats.

We are beyond excited to let everyone know that the Wake County Animal Center's foster program has re-opened!!

Foster parents maximize the number of animals rescued, and they also help to care for animals that would be difficult to care for in the shelter environment. Most often these are kittens that need supportive care, animals recovering from major surgery, animals needing some one-on-one behavioral rehabilitation or socialization and finally, some animals just need a break from the shelter environment.

NOTE: Puppies and small dogs rarely need foster care as they are easily adopted from the shelters adoption floor.

Latoya is a stunning long-haired calico, around 2 years old, with the sweetest personality. She was found on a nearby farm during a TNVR mission, and it quickly became clear that she wasn’t a feral cat—just a friendly girl in need of help. She had been sick for a long time, but after a vet visit, medication, and being spayed, she made an amazing recovery!

Though Latoya still sounds a little stuffy due to how her nasal passages healed, she doesn’t need any medication—just a loving home where she can finally relax. Her dream? A cozy spot by the window, gentle brushing sessions, and a human to adore her. 😻

Take your time with me; I've had a bit of traveling and it has made me a little shy. But I'm ready for you! Some nice people just brought me here from LA, and I sure am happy to be safe and to make room in my previous shelter for the owned animals separated from their families due to the fires.
