🎄✨ National Christmas Lights Day ✨🎄

The holidays are officially lighting up Duvall!
As we plug in those twinkling strands, remember: the glow is magical, but let’s keep our pets safe while we decorate.

💡 Pet Safety Quick Tips
• Skip the chew temptation — loose cords and blinking bulbs can look like a toy.
• Keep it tidy — secure wires to walls, mantles, or higher areas.
• Avoid glass ornaments near the floor — curious paws + shiny things = 🚑
• Watch for tinsel and ribbon — especially with cats. Those fibers can be dangerous if swallowed.

Nothing brightens the season like coming home to a safe, happy pet and a cozy house full of lights. 🐾❤️
From all of us here at Duvall Veterinary Hospital, we hope your holidays shine bright.

🛍️ Happy Shop Small Saturday, Duvall! 🛍️

As your locally owned, woman-owned, small-town veterinary hospital, we feel days like this in our bones. Small businesses are the heartbeat of this valley — the coffee shops that know your order, the boutiques that know your style, the mechanics who know your story, and the neighbors who support neighbors every single day.

Even though we’re closed on Saturdays, we still believe in getting out there and lifting up the local businesses that make our town thrive. Today is a perfect excuse to grab that cup of coffee, pick up that gift, or simply stop in and show some love to a shop you’ve been meaning to visit.

From all of us at Duvall Veterinary Hospital, thank you for supporting small. Thank you for supporting local. And thank you for helping us keep this valley strong, one pet and one business at a time. 🐾

Watch for Symptoms:
• Vomiting
• Sudden tiredness
• Belly pain
• Loss of appetite
• Diarrhea

If your pet sneaks something they shouldn’t, give us a call right away.

Between guests, noise, and new smells, Thanksgiving can be stressful for pets — even the social ones! 🧡🐾

Signs Your Pet May Be Stressed:
• Hiding or pacing
• Excessive panting
• Whining or clinginess
• Changes in appetite
• Over-grooming

How to Help:
• Create a quiet retreat room
• Keep routines as normal as possible
• Offer interactive toys or calming treats
• Remind guests not to feed table scraps

A calm pet is a happy pet — especially during the holidays.

❄️🐾 Cold Weather Isn’t Always Cute — WSVMA Reminder
The WSVMA highlights how cold weather can seriously impact pet health:

🥶 Hypothermia risk: Pets lose body heat fast.
🧂 Salt + ice melt irritate paws: Clean and moisturize after walks.
🦴 Arthritis gets worse in winter: Older pets need extra care.

And remember — if it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them.

Noticing stiffness, limping, or slowing down? Book a winter wellness check with us.
