Meet River
an almost 3 year old, Retriever / Mountain Cur mix, who weighs about 50 pounds. This sweet girl was part of a large group surrender, and she is the last one left to find a forever family!

"River is a very friendly dog who makes friends everywhere she goes! She does great with kids (7 YO+) and is very sweet with them. She loves to play and is very polite when greeting new friends. She is currently with a group of dogs her size and she does really well with them. She doesn't need to be the alpha, and also is not submissive - she's just there to have a good time! She has blended in very well with all the pups and we are ready to help sweet River find her forever family! We know the perfect person / family is out there and she can't wait to meet you!"

Here's one thing you can do right now to make your dog’s life even better than it already is: let them sniff!
Walking your dog provides physical exercise, but letting them sniff along the way will provide your dog with mental exercise and stimulation, too. Not only is sniffing important to your dog, but it is essential for your dog’s wellbeing. Studies have also shown that olfactory stimulation lowers a dog’s heart rate and reduces stress levels. Next time you take your dog out, we encourage you to slow down and let your dog "smell the roses" and other epic scents on their walk!
