FOREVER HOME UPDATE-Charlotte is a love....she now sits with us all the time She loves belly rubs which is weird for a cat Just thought I would share this beautiful girl
Admin note: Charlotte was found as a stray after being left behind when her owner moved. She came to Standish a scared and shut down kitty. Our amazing team of volunteers helped Charlotte trust again. Upon meeting, this wonderful home fell in love with her and Charlotte let them know the feeling was mutual. She continues to grow and flourish in this fabulous home.
Charlotte's forever home photo is the face of love and patience and we look forward to following her journey.

Coriander and Basil are bonded brothers born on 4/13/24. They are looking for a home together.
Coriander is a sweet, loving, playful neutered kitten, white with black spots. He is very affectionate and when he is ready for a nap will jump up on your lap, look you right in the eye and meow for pets. He loves to fall asleep having his forehead rubbed and will purr loudly.
Basil, tabby, is a very playful, active, affectionate, brave and smart boy who is definitely the leader of his pack. He is always first to investigate something new. He is vocal when he wants food, letting you know when it’s dinner time. Loves pets when he’s tired and will climb up on your lap and meow to for attention letting out his loud purr! Basil is a very smart little guy who quickly figured out how to open the cabinet door where the kitten food is stored.
They both get along with kids and cats.

Grizzly Sparkles is a stunning tortoiseshell kitten with a personality just as vibrant and unique.

She needs time to warm up but this beautiful girl is not only a sight to behold with her dazzling coat of mixed colors, but she also has a heart full of sweetness ready to share her love. 💗

She likes belly rubs and butt scratches and shows her appreciation by drooling. She enjoys the simple pleasures in life, like curling up in a cozy spot for a nap or basking in a sunny window or playing string or chasing her squeaky mouse.

Her calm shy demeanor makes her the perfect companion for a peaceful and loving home.

This sweet tortie gets along well with other pets- cats and dogs. Her kind and gentle spirit makes her a wonderful addition to any household looking for a furry friend to shower with love and affection.

ADOPTED Tristan, who had been living in a car with his previous owner before coming to Standish, was adopted this week by a young couple. They were looking for a friendly and affectionate companion, and Tristan checked all the boxes.
Sosa was adopted today by a young man who has been volunteering for Standish for a very long time. Sosa had been under Standish's care since March, and his adopter just knew he would be a perfect fit for his two cats (also Standish alumni) at home. As soon as Sosa got into his carrier, he happily sang, 'Come on, let's go home!'

Kodiak is a 12 week old male kitten and he really loves chin and cheek rubbies. He is a super sweet boy who is a very adept chirpy toy catcher and he will love you forever if you give him Churu treats!

Juneau is a female short haired kitten and she is a sweet adventurous little girl. She's the first one to pounce on a toy or her brother's tail and is super affectionate. She loves to wrap her tail around you as she's walking and has the loudest purrs!

Tippi is a handsome neutered male who loves attention when he warms up to you. He likes to flop over and hold your hand while he gently kneads. Tippi is very playful and absolutely loves his little fake mice. He’s also very food motivated and incredibly intelligent! Tippi's favorite is any type of squeezable stick treat, he will even stand for them! He’s a big talker and will happily have a conversation with you!

FOREVER HOME UPDATE-LINDY is doing great! She settled in very quickly to her forever home. We love her so much. She loves to play, has been eating and using the litter box regularly since day two, and has slowly warmed up to her cat trees.
The day we adopted her we ordered a 30 pack of assorted balls; those have been our best purchase so far. She plays with them constantly all throughout the house. Here are a handful of pictures we’ve taken of her in the last week and a half.

ADOPTED Dolce, with her gorgeous smoke colored fur, went home today to be a first pet. She was extremely receptive to petting and playing and when her carrier was placed on the floor, she walked straight in. That friendly girl is about to have her best life!

Emme is a 12 week old gorgeous Torbie kitten. She is the perfect combination of smart, spunky and snuggly. Emme came to Standish with her sister Evie and she would also thrive on her own.

FOREVER HOME Update on Captain Jack FKA Cranny and Lady FKA Gremlin.
Captain Jack (CJ) still alerts us to my son's seizures. He actually has a friendship with our program guinea pig, Pixy that comes home with me for the weekends. CJ still acts more like a dog than a cat. He snuggles up with both of our old dogs.
Lady has learned to trust more people. she cuddles with my son, goes to one of his aides, and will come into the room when other people are over. she no longer runs and hides. She will go up to sniff people but only lets them touch her by her choice.

FOREVER HOME UPDATE-JORGE, formerly GEORGE:
I think if Jorge could speak he would say that he’s never been a happier cat than he is today. Watching Jorge go from timid and looking over his shoulder when he went exploring to the confident king of his castle. Jorge loves naps in fresh laundry, flopping and swimming when he’s ready for attention, and guarding the house from any fly or moth who dare enter. I’ve bought him several hiding beds, but he always prefers denning under the covers with me, especially during thunderstorms.

Trixie was surrendered by her previous owners because they were moving and couldn't take her. She is a beautiful 5-year-old spayed female who enjoys company and being pet. Trixie has a soft purr and likes to play with toys.

He put a message on social media to find Tristan a good home. When Standish became aware of this they told him it was not safe to give Tristan away to just anyone, especially since he was not neutered. This adorable kitty is finally vetted and ready for his forever home. He is extremely sweet and friendly since he was used to seeing lots and lots of strangers on the streets. He likes other cats and dogs too!

Astra is very outgoing, brave, and extremely loving. She will purr like a motor with some snuggles! She is less than 12 weeks old and she is a fun kitty to have around.Great with kids and other pets!

Cheddar was rescued from living in the streets. She is an older spayed kitten who is FIV+. She has not been around other cats at the shelter but she frequented a site with other cats when she was living outside, so it seems likely that she would get along with other cats. Cheddar has a sweet temperament and took to being petted quickly. She loves being brushed and will head bump along the brush to say "more please". She doesn't understand toys quite yet but she is starting to show interest! She is still working on getting comfortable with being picked up--she just gets very squirmy when you try to do so.

Piano is a 12 week old handsome tuxedo. He is so curious of his foster home's adult cat ( who is not thrilled with him sadly) and he follows her around and would love to play! Piano will play with a gentle dog on his terms. Pluto scares easily but once comfortable is very confident. Hi s a
lap cat who loves attention and will snuggle for hours and follow you everywhere.

Xena was surrendered along with her newborn kittens when the home she was living in became overwhelmed with too many cats. She raised her kittens in a Standish foster home, and they have since been adopted.
