Summer season may slowly come to an end, but that doesn't mean that our furry friends wouldn't love a sweet treat from us. Sampson got his fair share on his birthday back in May.
Dr. Dan Hebert shared information about a non-sugar sweetener named 'birch sugar' in an article for Duxbury Neighbors Magazine a little while ago. 'Birch sugar', more commonly known as Xylitol, is safe for people, but it is absolutely not safe for dogs. It can be found in cookies, candies, ice creams and more. Happy National Dog Day!
Let's celebrate our four-legged friends with a big hug & kiss.
Looking for more ideas of how to celebrate? Here are some ideas:
- Take your dog for an extra long walk today
- Donate some blankets, food & toys to a local animal shelter
- Make sure you have your next wellness appointment scheduled so your dog's health is taken care of
- Volunteer at your local animal shelter
- Take some photos of your dog today, share them online & tag us in the post so we can share it in our story
- Have a portrait painted of your dog
- Buy your dog a new toy... or two...or four...

We also have a blog entry for today's special day. Follow the link:

Here is a cute video of Boomer smiling for us... in return he expected a treat. That's only fair 😉... This video is a great tool for sharing Boomer's beautiful smile with the world. Generally, videos are great to share information! Not just to share smiles, but also to share information about things you are concerned about: For example, if you are coming in for an appointment with us because your pet is limping, has a weird cough, is licking excessively or something different, a video catching the situation at home or on a walk, will be helpful for us. Dr. Dan Hebert wrote an article about this topic for Duxbury Neighbors Magazine last year. We think it's worth sharing again here to spread the information:
