Your vet will likely recommend dental X-rays at their first dental cleaning if teeth are missing. Some teeth are simply not present or didn't develop, but there is a risk for teeth to be impacted instead. In this case a cyst began to form around the impacted tooth, affecting the teeth around it as well. If this isn't addressed, it has the potential to affect the jaw long term!
