👉It happened to me with Mimi. The funny thing about it is that while we were in the house she was excellent but once we left the party of destruction began, lol.
🚨Sadly, one very common explanation for destructive behavior is separation anxiety. Many pet parents work long hours, and our dog spends all those hours, alone, without exercise. Believe me for the dog, these moments are strong, his anxiety is real!
🚨Pay close attention to what he does as you are about to leave the house. Does he pace, bark, If he shows signs of distress as you are gathering your keys or putting on your shoes (and he never behaves in a destructive manner until you have departed for the day), then it is possible he/she may have a case of separation anxiety.
🐾Here are some tips I did with Mimi, she no longer destroys anything.🐾
✅Exercise with your dog! It is the most that has helped me! Before you go, throw the ball, walk your dog, run, play! you need to tire your dog. Mimi is very energetic, and the only thing that has helped 100% is exercise.
✅Not only physical exercises, mental exercises, as commands. I have noticed that the commands exhaust Mimi. She loves it but it also tires her as if she were running.
✅ Another tip; do simulations as if you were going to go, ex. putting on your shoes, taking the keys. Leave the house and come back in 1 min or 2 min. This will help the dog understand that every time you go out that door you will return, you will not leave forever.
✅ Before leaving, give him his favorite toy or a stimulating treat-stuffed puzzle toy, this will help him fight boredom. But, Make this a special toy and treat combination that he only gets when you leave the house. He should eventually build the association between the treat and your absence
