And just like that we are loping circles. We are working on some finishing touches before poppy goes home. Can’t believe she gets to go home next month! So excited about her. So calm and easy going under saddle.

Got to ride both the babies up yellow fork today!

08/03/2021

Peaches got out on her first trail ride today. She handled it like a pro. Charging dogs, cows, bags, etc. no drama. She’s gonna be amazing!

Poppy didn’t get a video tonight because it was dark, but she did great on her arena ride, working on trotting. She’s so laid back and easy going!

Poppy is getting to be a big girl and work in the big arena. Working on turning and building confidence.

These two were so excited they got to be tied next to each other for a bit after their training g sessions. I’m so excited to be able to break my once baby horse “peaches” out for my friend! She’s gonna be so amazing!!!

Q had to put some final touches on these guys for me and make sure they liked kids. Pork is just happy he doesn’t have to trot 🤣 such a good boy!

06/08/2021

Pork and Beans are coming along great! So fun to get out and get them confident on the trails!

06/02/2021

Super excited to get this fully broke out! “Poppy” is such a sweet girl!!!

05/25/2021

Who needs training videos when you can just watch this slow motion ripple effect after riding 🤣 don’t worry she’s working on building her ripples into muscles!

05/23/2021

Steering is overrated, who needs steering 🥴🤷‍♀️, but seriously how cool is this guy! Can’t wait to get him steering as well as his buddy who is the one influencing his side stepping towards her. They are definitely great buddies! For this being his fourth ride ever though he is doing fantastic!

Our two newest in training. Excited to get some miles on these two super cool fjords!

And finally hooking up to the cart! She did fantastic!

Ben is not real thrilled with Rocket training, but it is sooo good for him. He’s a bit spooky right now with me up on him amd anytime I move so we are doing some major desensitizing. Eventually Rocket will be all the way up, but for now I don’t want him to fully commit. Working on different positioning and cues with Rocket so we can do some team training more effectively and build rockets focus. One cue I focused on today is to follow. So when the horse moves away Rocket follows until the horse stops, then he is supposed to sit. This is a pressure and release where the horse gets rewarded by Rocket sitting and taking away pressure only when the horse stops moving and reacting. If we take away pressure when the horse reacts then we are rewarding and encouraging that behavior which is not what we want. Eventually the horse learns that if he thinks through things rather than reacts it is much easier and the pressure goes away faster and they are rewarded.

After some desensitizing with Rocket, Millie gets her first official ride!

03/22/2021

Disclaimer, no animals were hurt or distressed during this video.
Millie is one of the best ponies around! As obnoxious as this session was for her to have to put up with Rocket jumping on her it taught her a lot. One- desensitizing! She is going to be a kid’s pony amd therefore it is so important for her to have a solid mind with things on her and off. Two- when Rocket aka kids eventually fall off, most horses freak out and react by bolting or jumping amd sometimes kicking out etc. this cannot happen when kids are involved. We are teaching Millie to remain calm and stop when Rocket falls off. Three- she is learning to move and be confident even with things moving around on her back that feel funny and even throw her balance off because kids will do the very same.
