Today we are showing appreciation for Dr. Amber Craft! If she has been the doctor you come see with your fur baby, you know how wonderful and sweet she is. Dr. Amber is a favorite among the staff and I’m sure with many of her patients. She has been with EAC since 2015 and we have loved every minute of our time with her. Dr. Amber is the first to listen to the heart and lungs of our anesthetized patients making sure they are doing well. She always jumps in to help technicians make your pet’s experience as stress-free as possible. Please join us at EAC in showing appreciation to a wonderful doctor!

This week is Veterinarian Appreciation Week! EAC is so lucky to have the best individuals that make up our doctor team. The two we are highlighting today are Dr. Katie Wright and Dr. Sarah Keller.
Dr. Katie has been with EAC since 2007. She has been the cornerstone for our high medical standards since 2009. Not only is she an amazing doctor and mentor but she is one of the most sincere individuals we know. Dr. Katie is very dear to her staff and always jumping in to help; even with laundry on occasion.
Dr. Sarah has been with EAC since April 2022. She has been an intricate part to our doctor team with her emergency medicine experience. She is always sharing her knowledge with clients and our EAC team. We love her bright personality and s***k she brings to the clinic.
The two doctors together are often seen collaborating together and supporting each other along with the Eagle Animal Clinic staff. We would love for you to join us in expressing our appreciation this week. If you have any personal stories you would like to share, we encourage you to do so!

As we approach the 4th of July, we want to remind owners to contact us ahead of time if your pet experiences high levels of stress and anxiety over fireworks. Most pet’s fear can be significantly reduced with the help of a mild sedative or anxiety medication. If you have a dog with firework or thunderstorm anxiety, please give us a call to talk about your options.

With summer festivities kicking off, we want to remind you about the symptoms of heatstroke and prevention tips:

-Never leave your pet unattended in a car
-When hot/humid, keep your pet’s time outdoors limited
-Keep your pet hydrated
-Ensure your pet has ventilation and a cool environment
-Dogs with short noses are at higher risk due to their condensed facial anatomy and restricted ability to cool themselves
-If any signs of heat stroke appear, contact our team immediately.

Is your pet scooting or licking their rear? It could be their a**l glands.

A**l glands are located on the rear of dogs and cats. The glands produce an oily, fishy-smelling fluid that helps with scent marking. Sometimes these glands can get impacted or infected.

With tomorrow being Hairball Awareness Day, we wanted to remind our cat parents about the importance of preventing hairballs.

Accumulated from excessive grooming, hairballs can build in your cat’s digestive system and either get coughed up or in some cases, need surgical removal.
If your cat is excessively vomiting, lethargic, loses their appetite, or has diarrhea or constipation, these may be signs of a blockage and you should contact our team immediately.

Our Story

For the safety of our staff, clients, and community, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our clinic for patient visits through the end of March. We will have office hours between 9 AM – 12 PM on 3/27, 3/30 and 3/31 to answer phones, return messages, and fill medication and food requests. We hope to be back open for essential patient visits April 1st, pending further developments.
