Clifford's Army Rescue Extravaganza SHELBY, NORTH CAROLINA
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving th .C.A.R.E. Once healthy and socialized, C.A.R.E. C.A.R.E.

Mission Statement

Clifford’s Army Rescue Extravaganza (C.A.R.E.) aims to improve the quality of life for homeless or otherwise struggling companion animals within Cleveland County, North Carolina and beyond. To do so, we leverage a dedicated group of local volunteers, supporters and fellow rescue organizations. We firmly believe that although we cannot possibly save every animal in need, it does

not mean we cannot try. Relying solely on volunteer space, time and effort, C.A.R.E. rescues abused, neglected or abandoned animals from kill shelters, owner surrenders, and general abandonment throughout Cleveland County and surrounding areas. The organization fosters between 120 to 150 animals at any given time, partnering with local veterinary clinics, hospitals, trainers, and fellow non profits to ensure that each animal receives the vaccinations, spay/neuter,medical procedures and training it may require for lifelong well-being and success –regardless of cost. works to find each animal a permanent, loving home through social media exposure, connections with fellow rescues, and frequent community wide adoption events. C.A.R.E also works to combat animal homelessness proactively. Working with local donors and veterinary service providers, C.A.R.E. provides food, basic supplies, vaccinations, reduced-cost spay/neuter procedures, and/or other medical treatment to owners currently unable to meet their pets’ needs. also engages in community outreach and public education, delivering fundraisers, delivering fundraisers, programming, and community events that bring awareness of animal rescue and core principles of responsible pet ownership to both youths and adults. Please visit our website for the dogs/puppies that are currently available for adoption. Once all vetting is complete and evaluations complete, they are posted. Link to our on line application is also on the website. We do on line application review, home visit and then meet and greet. We will travel up to two hours one way to facilitate home visits. We do not do virtual visits. www.cliffordsarmyrescue.com

A Letter to Santa from a Homeless Dog ~

Dear Santa Paws,

I hope this letter finds you in the midst of twinkling lights and festive cheer. As a humble rescue dog, I've been thinking a lot about Christmas wishes. In this season of magic and warmth, there's something special on my heart that I'd like to share with you.

All I dream of this Christmas is a loving forever home. A place where laughter echoes through the halls, and gentle hugs are as abundant as the snowflakes outside. I wish for companionship, Santa, the kind that lasts well beyond the holiday glow. A family to call my own, where the hearth is warm and the love is unconditional.

As you make your list and check it twice, I ask for your help in finding a home filled with understanding and kindness. Your magic has touched countless hearts, and I believe that, with your guidance, my Christmas wish for a forever family can come true.

Thank you for spreading joy and granting the wishes of furry friends like me. Wishing you a paws-itively wonderful Christmas!

Warmest regards,
A special dog ❤️

Lots of pics from our (Clifford's Army Rescue Extravaganza) Tree lighting and blessing of the animals yesterday.
Huge thank you to all who braved the chilly weather ( thank goodness for patio heaters) to come out to this wonderful event.
Major thank you to Baker Buffalo Creek - Vineyard and Winery for hosting the event. Another huge thank you to Chris Kratzer for providing the blessing of the animals.
Trace Casanova was amazing as always. What a show he put on !
Our volunteers as always showed up and handled some of our adoptable CARE dogs for people to meet. ( we have the best army and are thankful for each and every one of them.)
Thank you all who purchased lights for the tree in honor of in memory of the animals.
God bless you all and Merry Christmas.

Meet Daisy!

Daisy is a playful and affectionate 7-month-old puppy who’s ready to find her forever home. . Daisy is full of energy and loves to run in the yard, wrestle with her brother and older dogs, and chase balls (she’s even good about bringing them back!). Curious and respectful around cats, Daisy also gets along wonderfully with older dogs.

This smart girl has been crate-trained and easily settles in with a sprinkle of kibble and the command, “Let’s kennel, kennel.” She’s on a consistent schedule, going outside at 10 p.m., sleeping through the night, and heading out again at 6 a.m. Daisy and her brother eat three times a day—6:30 a.m., 12 p.m., and 4 p.m.—and have been thriving on Purina Pro Plan Puppy Shredded Chicken & Rice.

Daisy already knows how to sit and has started working on the “stay” command. She doesn’t know her name yet, which means her new family can pick the perfect one for her. For now, she comes running when called with “Puppies” or “Come.” She’s been kept on a structured schedule and hasn’t had free roam of the house, setting her up for success as she learns the ropes in a new home.

Daisy would love an active family with a yard to play in and maybe some older dog siblings to keep her company. She also enjoys Bully Sticks and Split Elk Antlers, making playtime and quiet moments even more fun.

Could you be the family Daisy is waiting for? Adopt Daisy and welcome a lifetime of love, loyalty, and puppy snuggles into your home.

Meet Winston!

Winston is an energetic and loving 5-month-old puppy looking for his forever family. Winston loves to run in the yard, wrestle with Daisy and older dogs, and chase balls—though he’s still working on the art of bringing them back! Curious and respectful around cats, Winston gets along well with older dogs and enjoys being part of a pack.

Winston is crate-trained and easily settles in when you say, “Let’s kennel, kennel,” and sprinkle a bit of kibble inside. He follows a consistent schedule, going outside at 10 p.m., sleeping through the night, and heading out again at 6 a.m. He eats three times a day—6:30 a.m., 12 p.m., and 4 p.m.—and thrives on Purina Pro Plan Puppy Shredded Chicken & Rice.

Winston knows how to sit and is eager to learn more commands, though he’ll need some extra training to perfect his fetch game. Like his sister, he doesn’t know his name yet, so his future family can choose a name that’s just right for him. For now, he responds happily to “Puppies” or “Come” and comes running when you call. Winston has been kept on a structured schedule and hasn’t had free roam of the house, making him a great candidate for continued training in his new home.

This sweet and active pup would thrive with an adopter who has a yard for him to run and play in and maybe some older dogs to show him the ropes. He loves Bully Sticks and Split Elk Antlers, which are perfect for keeping him entertained during quieter moments.

Could Winston be the perfect fit for your family? Give Winston the loving home he deserves, and you’ll gain a loyal, playful companion for life.

Winston is five months old and weighs about 27 lbs. As you can tell from the comparison photo, he was very emaciated when he came to the rescue but has thrived with his wonderful foster mom, Andrea Rodgers. Fostering saves lives!
If you think Winston is the guy for you, please fill out our on line app and we will be in touch asap!
