We had the pleasure of welcoming dog brothers Reo and R***r to our clinic. 😊 Big brother Reo was here to get neutered, while his adorable young brother R***r came in to get his first puppy check-up! 🩺😷 Both too cute and full of tail wags. We loved seeing their special bond! 🐾💚

Don't let the Fourth of July fireworks spook your furry friends! 🐾 Now is the time to plan ahead and get your pet's anti-anxiety medications refilled. 💊

Here are a few options commonly used for noise aversion:

•Sileo Gel: The first FDA approved treatment for noise aversion in dogs, this oral gel helps manage fear and anxiety related to loud noises like fireworks or thunderstorms.

•Trazodone: Used to help control anxiety and provide mild sedation in dogs, this medication can be helpful for noise phobies and other stressful events

•Gabapentin: While often used for pain management, it can also provide relaxation and sedation for anxiety for dogs and cats

Talk to Dr. Fernandez or Dr. Eaves to determine the best approach for your pet's needs and ensure you have their medications well before the fireworks start! 🎆🇺🇸🎇

Look at these sweet seniors, Mags & Willow. 🩷 A couple weeks ago, they both had tooth extractions and are now on the mend. Both of their owners opted for the optional post-op laser therapy. This add-on helps to aid in healing and promotes pain management. ✨♨️

It's so important to keep an eye on our older pups' dental health! Thank you to Mags and Willow's pet parents for their trust in taking care of their old gals! 🦷

🌊 WARNING: Blue-Green Algae Alert!
It's sweet summertime but be cautious taking your furry friend to the lake with you. ☀️

The rise of warm weather often brings a hidden danger to our lakes & ponds: Blue-Green Algae, or cyanobacteria. This toxic algae can be harmful to both pets and humans. Symptoms of exposure in pets can include vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy.

If suspected, rinse your pet immediately and seek veterinary care! Keep your furry friends safe by steering clear of affected waters. 🐾

Blooms have been reported in Lake Hartwell so far this summer! Visit SC Department of Environmental Services for other water reports! 👍🏼
