UPDATE: The Town of Holland and the Town of Colden both have two of these dogs. They will be up for adoption Monday. If you are interested in adopting, or work for a rescue and would like to foster them, please call Bill at 716 238-5602. The two dogs he has are both females and both look to be a year or younger. They are not spade. They are thought to be a Shar Pei mix.

We wanted to share this post since many people have been asking how they can help with these pups. We spoke to the Town of Holland Dog control and they said that they are set with supplies for now. Between the Town of Colden and The Town of Holland, there are four dogs total in their custody. There might be one more out there and they are trying to find it. These dogs will most likely be going up for adoption at the end of the week. If we get any updated information we will let you know.

We’d like to thank Dave Thomason for serving as our primary on call dog control officer for fifteen years! We were very fortunate to have him in our department for so long. He’s a lifelong village resident and true dog lover. It was common to see him with one of his own trustee companions accompanying him on the scene. You may also recognize him as the former crossing guard at the middle school, which is not for the faint of heart! You may still run into him in his capacity as a crossing guard at some of the many events held in the town. He’s been active with the East Aurora Fire Department for fifty eight years, which included being a past fire chief. His service to the town has included being an elected Town Councilman for twenty years, serving as Deputy Supervisor for the last two. It’s been an honor to have him as a co-worker and friend. Please join us as we wish him a happy retirement! Dave will be leaving his dog control duties in the capable hands of Roger LeBlanc (on the left).
