Happy Fourth of July! 🎆

Here are some ways to keep our fur babies safe 🐶

🐾 Make sure your pets all have identification tags updated with your current contact information and attached to their collars and they are wearing their collars (especially if they are going outside) & that their microchip is up to date with your current information
🐾 If your pets take any medications for anxiety, make sure you give them to your pet in advance
🐾 Double check your gates, doors, & windows! Turn the TV up and if your dogs are crate trained, crate them if you're not going to be home
🐾 If you know when fireworks are going to be set off, bring your pets inside prior!
🐾 If you're BBQing, be aware of the toxic foods to dogs! Make sure your dogs are unable to reach table food and any scraps are disposed of properly

Do you know why Trainers ask about your dogs medical history?

A lot of the time, new behaviors that may show have a reasoning behind it.

Dogs like to hide their pain/ discomfort. When noticing a change in behavior and you consult a trainer, we will ask if your dog has recently been to the vet to rule out any behavioral changes being that your dog is sick / hurt.

My own dog for example, was very grumpy, he was snippy towards his fur siblings and he is never like that. I contacted my vet, he fractured his molar ! We scheduled the surgery and within a few days he was back to normal!

We like to rule everything out to get to the bottom line of the issues you encounter.

I've been seeing a lot of people post about getting multiple dogs lately and I'd like to re-post a little info about Littermate Syndrome

It's not a bad thing if you're getting multiple dogs at once. Just want to inform you about some unwanted behaviors that can happen and to provide ways to prevent the unwanted behaviors.

When getting multiple dogs, you want to make sure you're treating them as complete individuals.

Training, feeding, crating, walking, playing, all separate.
