I don't believe in having a curriculum. I don't believe in forcing clients to learn what they already know. I don't believe every dog is the same.

I believe each dog is different, each family is different. I believe that everyone (dogs and human) go at their own pace.

With my customizable sessions, we work on the problems and set realistic goals.

- We only focus on the issues
- We pick apart the issue and work on a solution that suits you and your family
- I keep my phone available for any questions between sessions
- We keep sessions once a week (or longer) depending how progress is going

Wonderful Joy of Puppies!

While the initial reaction is "omg so cute and fluffy" it masks over the realisitc experience with having a puppy.

After the initial reaction wears off, comes the training, reinforcing, household schedule, etc;

Owning a puppy is like having an infant. Very needy, constantly learning, and become very hyper.

When I got pregnant, I immediately started setting plans in place with having two dogs and a newborn.

What no one prepares you for is, having a newborn & dogs is the easy part. It’s having a toddler and dogs.

Dogs look at kids as either a scary moving object or an over stimulated puppy. What helped set our household up for success was not separating and keeping them away, it was keeping them together and encouraging positive interactions.

Dogs & children DO NOT need to interact with each other. While yes, sometimes my dogs and my son do interact, it’s on everyone’s terms. Sometimes my son is more interested and sometimes my dogs are more interested.

We set up safe spaces for both the human and the dogs , but we also encouraged my son to ‘help’.

He helps feed the dogs, he gives treats, he plays with them, helps ‘walk’ them. But most importantly, he has been learning to respect them since he was able to acknowledge them.

While no child is perfect, neither is any dog. Training dogs is quite similar to teaching children and I love enforcing the positive reinforcement in our home.

Hi 👋 everyone!! My name is Jessica, the founder of Dog Training with Jessica!

It's been a while since I have done an about me. A little about myself…

I've been in the pet care industry since 2015 and have been a Certified Dog Trainer since 2016. I have always been passionate about dogs and wanted to get into the pet care industry but did not have the heart to work at a veterinarians office.

I managed a dog daycare for about 8+ years and have experience around all types of dogs, large & small!

I chose Dog Training because I wanted to help people. Growing up I wanted to be a teacher but my dreams changed as I got older and chose the dog life 🤣

Helping pet families is what I'm happy about and I love seeing each dogs progress and helping each family be set up for success 🩷

I have two dogs, both of them were adopted through rescues. I have a Schnauzer/Dachshund mix named Jaxon and a Pitbull Terrier mix named Denali. My parents also have a Cairn Terrier named Harley I helped raise.

Both my dogs (Jaxon & Denali) have some behavioral issues which I am not a behavioralist but I believe it has helped me use some techniques in my training sessions.

I'm a wife and a mom to a little boy and super strict over children and dogs! Part of my passion is dog / child safety and how to manage introductions and maintain a positive environment between the two.

I'm a Positive Reinforcement Trainer and always believe in doing what's best for you & your family. Everyone has different goals, different routines, lifestyles and breed preferences.

Along with dog training, I also help families find their future dog. From discussing breeds , along with looking at either breeders or rescues, to asking the right questions and making sure each family is set up with proper tools to bring a new dog home to.

Happy Fourth of July! 🎆

Here are some ways to keep our fur babies safe 🐶

🐾 Make sure your pets all have identification tags updated with your current contact information and attached to their collars and they are wearing their collars (especially if they are going outside) & that their microchip is up to date with your current information
🐾 If your pets take any medications for anxiety, make sure you give them to your pet in advance
🐾 Double check your gates, doors, & windows! Turn the TV up and if your dogs are crate trained, crate them if you're not going to be home
🐾 If you know when fireworks are going to be set off, bring your pets inside prior!
🐾 If you're BBQing, be aware of the toxic foods to dogs! Make sure your dogs are unable to reach table food and any scraps are disposed of properly
