Foster or foster to adopt home needed for Teddy. Teddy is a 5 year old Morkie and he is urgently looking for a new home due to no fault of his own. He weighs about 10 lbs. Teddy has been well taken care of up to this point and lived with a female toy poodle which we do have a foster for already. He does well around other dogs he has met so far but he can be possessive of food or toys. So he needs to be fed separately from other dogs and no children because of this behavior. He has been p*e pad trained so he will need some work on housebreaking if you don't want to do p*e pads. He has been neutered for a while which is a plus. Meet Lily. Lily came to us as a retired breeder dog from a commercial kennel. She is a Yorkie and weighs about 6 lbs. Lily turns 4 years old in July 2025. She is more on the shy side but she is learning how to be loved in her foster home. Lily will do best in a home with a securely fenced yard and another small dog to help her learn how great living in a home can be. Lily gets along well with the other small dogs in her foster home. She is now spayed and had a dental cleaning. Sadly her teeth were so bad that all but one had to be removed so she will have to stay on soft food. Lily is up to date with vaccines and microchipped.

Meet Lila. Lila came to us as a retired breeder dog from a commercial kennel. She is a Yorkie and she weighs just under 6 lbs. Lila will turn 4 years old in September 2025. She is very friendly and outgoing and she loves to snuggle. She gets along great with the other small dogs in her foster home. Lila is working on housebreaking and crate training in her foster home. This is something that will be a work in progress for her. Because of her being so small, she will need to go out very often. Lila is now spayed and had a dental cleaning. She is up to date with vaccines and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Lila, please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application today! Meet Mickey and Nickel. These two little cuties were found together as local strays. They are super friendly and are in a foster home with a dog, other cats, rabbits and children. They love to play together but could also be adopted separately if you already have a playmate at home. Both are now neutered and ready for adoption. They are about 3 months old. If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the cat adoption application today!

Meet the "D" puppies! Dior came to us a couple months ago from a local hoarding situation. Our best guess is that she is Rat Terrier mixed with Pug and possibly Jack Russell terrier. Dior was pregnant when she came in and her puppies are now ready for their forever homes and so is Dior. Dior is about 30 lbs and we don't expect her puppies to grow bigger then that. Daisy is the only female pup in the litter and she will be on the smaller side. If you are interested in adopting Dior or any of her puppies, please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application today! Meet Lucy. Lucy is a 4.5 year old golden retriever who weighs about 60 lbs. Lucy came to us from a commercial breeder. When Lucy came to us, she had scabs on her head and neck, and her tail had been cut and was missing hair and skin. We are not sure exactly what happened to Lucy but the injuries were quite fresh and she did need significant medical care including amputation of her tail. Lucy now has a little nub as a tail that she wags when she's happy. Lucy is a sweetheart, but she is also very scared and will require patience. She has shown absolutely no aggression toward anyone. Lucy showed no interest in other dogs she was around or a toddler who attempted to interact with her. Lucy only had one accident in the house. It will be ideal to have a fenced-in yard so Lucy can have a little privacy. Currently, Lucy will only go outside if she is carried outside and will only go potty with no one around or looking at her. For the first few weeks, Lucy needed to be carried back into the house, but with lots of encouragement, Lucy began walking back into the house on her own. Lucy has not been for a walk on a leash yet as she is still too scared. When left alone, Lucy has slowly worked up the courage to explore her surroundings. She will need a calm and patient home to help her learn to be a normal dog. Lucy does make progress every day.
Lucy is now spayed, up to date with vaccines, and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm and has been started on monthly heartworm prevention.
