💙 Meet Toby — Nala’s Brother 💙

Now that we’ve shared the wonderful news that Nala is recovering and doing well, we want to introduce you to her brother, Toby 🐾

Toby is a 5-month-old mixed-breed puppy who came from the same unplanned litter as Nala. While his sister had been bravely fighting Parvo, Toby has been safe and cared for by an amazing foster family in Texas who stepped in when he needed it most.

Right now, Toby is doing great and will continue receiving all of his vaccinations, medical care, and full vetting. Once he is fully vetted and cleared, Toby will officially be available for adoption through Change a Life Dog Rescue.

✈️ Coming soon to Connecticut!

After completing vetting, Toby will be making his journey north to Connecticut, where we’ll begin looking for the perfect forever home for this sweet boy.

We are so grateful for our fosters, volunteers, and supporters who make stories like Toby’s possible. Please keep both Toby and Nala in your thoughts as they continue their journeys—one healing, one growing, and both surrounded by love.

💔 WE NEED YOUR HELP — URGENT PARVO PUP 💔

As we wind down the year, the need never seems to slow down. Today, Change a Life Dog Rescue was asked to step in for a tiny life that desperately needs help.

Meet Nala 🐾
She is just 5 months old, weighs only 7 pounds, and is a sweet mixed-breed puppy (possibly a Terrier mix). Nala has a brother named Toby, and like so many unwanted puppies, the two were being given away after what may have been a “surprise” litter. Sadly, they had not yet been vaccinated.

Despite someone trying to do the right thing by deworming them and setting up vet care, Nala suddenly became very sick. She was rushed to a Texas emergency hospital, where she was diagnosed with Parvo.

Nala is currently hospitalized and fighting for her life.

Parvo is a devastating but treatable disease—if help comes in time. We have received an estimate of $950 for Nala’s hospital care, and that is our fundraising goal to give her the best chance at survival.

Hello everyone,

Just before Christmas, we were asked to take a dog…we said yes. The dog is a 2 yr old Great Pyrenees named Glacier. HE IS A BIG BOY! And such a love bug. Glacier weighs 80lbs (he can stand to put on weight, all that floof is deceptive), he is housebroken, great on a leash, laid back, good with dogs, cats, kids. His people could not keep him, so he was surrendered to a shelter. Glacier has been treated for Heartworm, he has been neutered and vaccinated. Glacier has a confirmed Foster in CT, can we get the big guy his Forever home? Email [email protected] AND submit an application! Let’s start the New off with a new home for the big guy!

This is the season of hope, love and miracles. We hope your hearts are filled with enough love to help us pull off a Christmas miracle. Canelo is looking for a Foster or Adopter this holiday season. This sweet boy is a mixed breed, maybe some Hound in there, 3 yrs old, 55ish lbs. Canelo is housebroken once he gets on a routine, ok on a leash, playful and sweet but has an off switch. Canelo is a lovebug.. he will melt the heart of anyone he meets. He would be great in a home with kids…they could play all day. Canelo is just not a fan of other dogs. That just means that WHEN you Adopt him, you can smother him, and only him with ALL OF YOUR LOVE! He would be so appreciative. Canelo is in boarding in CT and can meet a prospective CT Foster or CT RI NH NY NJ VT ME MA ASAP. Canelo’s Adoption fee is waived. He is housebroken, ok on a leash, moderately energetic, can be crated, great with people(would be AWESOME with kids) he doesn’t like being around other dogs, but that just means he alone will soak up ALL THE LOVE YOU CAN GIVE HIM! Every year in the United States, hundreds of thousands of dogs are euthanized simply because shelters are overcrowded and there are not enough loving homes. In 2023, more than 359,000 dogs were euthanized nationwide.
