Have you ever thought “I wish I could help Change A Life Dog Rescue” but you cannot Foster a dog? Well, there IS a way you could help! We volunteer our time at area Concession stands to raise money to help the dogs. Vaccines, spay/neuters and Heartworm treatments cost money, and fundraising efforts provided us the money to take care of these medical costs. We need volunteers to help us help the pups. We are looking for volunteers to work the Concession stand at the XL Center on 3/7, 3/9, 3/21, 3/22- reach out to us so we can chat about how you can help. We are actively recruiting NOW so that we have a team of people. Let’s go save some lives!!!!

Molly is our resident Senior dog. She is as sweet as pie. Her people brought her to a shelter late last year, and the thought of this ole’ girl being in a shelter broke our heart. Molly is a 40lb, 15 yr old Lab mix. Yes, you heard me…Molly is 15 yrs old and was dropped off at a shelter. Molly is dog, cat and people friendly. She has arthritis and is deaf, but she loves a nice walk…she is great on a leash. Molly loves being outside, then crashing by your feet at home. Happy life to Bell, Casey and Lazlo! These pups are in their forever homes and we want to thank their families for supporting the idea of Rescue, and being the second chance for great pups.

Bell was a pup who was found as a stray in Texas. Bell had patchy fur and needed to put on weight. Her Foster family nursed her to health and placed her with our Rescue. The CT Foster family took her in and socialized her with their dogs, snuggled with her and made her feel safe and introduced her to an approved applicant…it was love at first sight.

Lazlo was a stray in TX who found his way to a shelter. Our Rescue took him in and placed him with a wonder Foster. Lazlo did well, but he was not great with the cats in the home. Another family saw our post about helping Lazlo find a Foster home without cats. We arranged introductions and humans and canines enjoyed their time together, so off they went…a few days later we realized this would be the last place Lazlo was moving to. Lazlo was officially Adopted.

Casey came to us in bad shape. This itty bitty Pitty was emaciated, lethargic and just down in the dumps. The Vet clinic in Georgia who helps us with so many dogs nursed this little nugget back to health, and a wonderful Foster took her in. Casey met a lovely couple over the weekend and now her name is Sabine, and she is being spoiled and loved like a little Princess.

LAZLO NEEDS A FOSTER- 4 yr old/80lb Shepherd mix in a Foster home in CT with cats, NOT A GOOD FIT FOR THE CATS. Lazlo is dog and people friendly, housebroken, a little strong on the leash, but an all around good natured dog. If we cannot find a Foster he goes to a boarding facility. Change A Life Dog Rescue presents… A Tale of two Pitties. Although the author of this post is a lover of classic literature, we will not be discussing characters grappling with change as a result of the French Revolution. We will be discussing two Pit mixes who are looking to find a forever home. Let me introduce you to our protagonists.

Casey is the first itty bitty Pitty looking for her family. She comes to our Rescue from an overcrowded Georgia shelter, where she was in bad shape. Poor little Casey was lethargic and skinny. She had low liver functions and she was Heartworm positive. Our hearts melted looking into her eyes…she just needed someone to give her a chance. Casey was scooped up and taken to our Vet partner where she was treated for Heartwom, vaccinated, fed and nursed back to health. We now have an adorable, spirited, housebroken, dog and cat friendly, 3 yr old/39lb, Female Pit mixes that just wants love. Casey is dog and cat friendly and she ADORES children! Casey is ready to go to a Forever home tomorrow!!!!

Julie is the next on the list. Also considered an itty bitty Pitty, Miss Julie is about 10 months old and 40lbs. Julie comes to us from the great state of TX, where they do everything big! In this case, it’s Julie’s personality that’s big because she is small in stature, but she is spirited and sweet, a huge love bug. Julie is dog friendly and people friendly but not a big fan of cats. Julie is ready to go to a Forever home tomorrow!!!

Casey and Julie have had applicants interested in them but sickness, bad timing or another dog unwilling to share his space has kept them from getting into their forever homes. 🐾 Abandoned, But Not Alone: These Puppies Need Your Help 🐾

Earlier this week our hearts broke when we learned about a litter of puppies cruelly abandoned in a blue container, left to fend for themselves in a field. 😢 Thankfully, a group of Good Samaritans refused to look away. They braved the cold and uncertainty to rescue these fragile little souls and bring them to safety.

Now, we’re stepping in to support their journey to a brighter future. These puppies are receiving the love and care they desperately need, but they’re far from out of the woods. Many are malnourished, scared, and will need medical attention, vaccinations, and proper nutrition to grow strong and healthy.

🐾 Meet Karma 🐾

They say what goes around comes around, and Karma is living proof that resilience and love can shine even after the darkest days. This beautiful mama was abandoned in the woods on a cold Georgia night, along with her 10 puppies. But Karma didn’t let that define her story — she’s writing a new chapter full of hope, love, and second chances. 💖

Karma is a petite 50-pound German Shepherd, around 2–3 years old, and as sweet as can be. Despite her heartbreaking start, she has blossomed into a loving, smart, and well-mannered dog who adores people and other dogs. Her kennel is always clean, so she may have lived in a home before. She walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, and charms everyone she meets — the vet techs adore her! 🐾

Karma isn’t just surviving; she’s thriving. She’s ready for her forever home where she can give and receive the love she’s always deserved. While she’s still figuring out what cats are, Karma shows no aggression — a meet-and-greet can help determine compatibility.

UPDATE - We have the 10 Volunteers we need for this event. Thank-you!

Help!!

We are looking for a volunteers to work a Concession Stand Wednesday night from 5:30-9:30 at the XL Center in Hartford. The event is UConn Women's Basketball. This is an important fundraiser for our rescue, Change A Life Dog Rescue. We have cashier, runner and food prep positions available. We need a total of 10 people and we will be working together as a team. Parking will be covered and you will be able to park in the parking garage directly across the street from the XL Center. If you can help please let me know.

This is a long shot, but what the heck. We are looking for a Foster for a dog in Georgia whom we want to put on the transport van tomorrow to come to CT- that means we need a serious person willing to submit a Foster application tonight to get Casey out of the kennel and into a Foster home.

Casey is a 3 yr old, 40lb Female Pit who is looking for a Foster home. Casey comes to us from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia, she was sick, Heart Worm positive and reduced liver functions. Casey has completed Heart Worm treatment, her liver is functioning properly and she has put on a little weight. Casey is dog/cat and people friendly, very playful, very sweet and appears to be housebroken.
