Change A Life Dog Rescue needs a Foster for a dog coming to Connecticut THIS SATURDAY! Jackie is her name, she is a 7 yr old Mastiff who is kid/cat/dog friendly. Jackie’s transport has been delayed for weeks, but she is finally confirmed AND she has an approved Adopter scheduled to meet her Sunday afternoon. LAZLO NEEDS A FOSTER- 4 yr old/80lb Shepherd mix in a Foster home in CT with cats, NOT A GOOD FIT FOR THE CATS. Lazlo is dog and people friendly, housebroken, a little strong on the leash, but an all around good natured dog. If we cannot find a Foster he goes to a boarding facility. We are a Foster based Rescue that tries to place dogs in Foster homes. PLEASE HELP!!!

Change A Life Dog Rescue presents… A Tale of two Pitties. Although the author of this post is a lover of classic literature, we will not be discussing characters grappling with change as a result of the French Revolution. We will be discussing two Pit mixes who are looking to find a forever home. Let me introduce you to our protagonists.

Casey is the first itty bitty Pitty looking for her family. She comes to our Rescue from an overcrowded Georgia shelter, where she was in bad shape. Poor little Casey was lethargic and skinny. She had low liver functions and she was Heartworm positive. Our hearts melted looking into her eyes…she just needed someone to give her a chance. Casey was scooped up and taken to our Vet partner where she was treated for Heartwom, vaccinated, fed and nursed back to health. We now have an adorable, spirited, housebroken, dog and cat friendly, 3 yr old/39lb, Female Pit mixes that just wants love. Casey is dog and cat friendly and she ADORES children! Casey is ready to go to a Forever home tomorrow!!!!

Julie is the next on the list. Also considered an itty bitty Pitty, Miss Julie is about 10 months old and 40lbs. Julie comes to us from the great state of TX, where they do everything big! In this case, it’s Julie’s personality that’s big because she is small in stature, but she is spirited and sweet, a huge love bug. Julie is dog friendly and people friendly but not a big fan of cats. Julie is ready to go to a Forever home tomorrow!!!

Casey and Julie have had applicants interested in them but sickness, bad timing or another dog unwilling to share his space has kept them from getting into their forever homes. He is still available for Adoption but he needs to move to a new Foster home ASAP. He is a good boy but too interested in chasing the cat. Lazlo is 4yrs old, 8lbs, can be strong on the leash, but he is a good natured, moderately energetic, dog friendly, people friendly, housebroken Shepherd mix that needs a Foster home. 🐾 Abandoned, But Not Alone: These Puppies Need Your Help 🐾

Earlier this week our hearts broke when we learned about a litter of puppies cruelly abandoned in a blue container, left to fend for themselves in a field. 😢 Thankfully, a group of Good Samaritans refused to look away. They braved the cold and uncertainty to rescue these fragile little souls and bring them to safety.

Now, we’re stepping in to support their journey to a brighter future. These puppies are receiving the love and care they desperately need, but they’re far from out of the woods. Many are malnourished, scared, and will need medical attention, vaccinations, and proper nutrition to grow strong and healthy.

🐾 Meet Karma 🐾

They say what goes around comes around, and Karma is living proof that resilience and love can shine even after the darkest days. This beautiful mama was abandoned in the woods on a cold Georgia night, along with her 10 puppies. But Karma didn’t let that define her story — she’s writing a new chapter full of hope, love, and second chances. 💖

Karma is a petite 50-pound German Shepherd, around 2–3 years old, and as sweet as can be. Despite her heartbreaking start, she has blossomed into a loving, smart, and well-mannered dog who adores people and other dogs. Her kennel is always clean, so she may have lived in a home before. She walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, and charms everyone she meets — the vet techs adore her! 🐾

Karma isn’t just surviving; she’s thriving. She’s ready for her forever home where she can give and receive the love she’s always deserved. While she’s still figuring out what cats are, Karma shows no aggression — a meet-and-greet can help determine compatibility.

UPDATE - We have the 10 Volunteers we need for this event. Thank-you!

Help!!

We are looking for a volunteers to work a Concession Stand Wednesday night from 5:30-9:30 at the XL Center in Hartford. The event is UConn Women's Basketball. This is an important fundraiser for our rescue, Change A Life Dog Rescue. We have cashier, runner and food prep positions available. We need a total of 10 people and we will be working together as a team. Parking will be covered and you will be able to park in the parking garage directly across the street from the XL Center. If you can help please let me know.

This is a long shot, but what the heck. We are looking for a Foster for a dog in Georgia whom we want to put on the transport van tomorrow to come to CT- that means we need a serious person willing to submit a Foster application tonight to get Casey out of the kennel and into a Foster home.

Casey is a 3 yr old, 40lb Female Pit who is looking for a Foster home. Casey comes to us from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia, she was sick, Heart Worm positive and reduced liver functions. Casey has completed Heart Worm treatment, her liver is functioning properly and she has put on a little weight. Casey is dog/cat and people friendly, very playful, very sweet and appears to be housebroken. If you are able to take Casey this Saturday, we can post her on Petfinder and Adopt a Pet and begin to look for her Adopter- let’s help this sweet pup find her Forever home.

Bring Hope and Joy This Holiday Season—Help Us Save TWO Lives

The holiday season is a time for hope, love, and giving—and right now, we have the chance to make a life-changing difference for two dogs at the Fulton County Animal Shelter in Georgia.

With over 425 dogs waiting for their second chance, these two have been overlooked for far too long. They’ve spent the holidays dreaming of a family, warmth, and love—a future they deserve but can’t reach without help.

The incredible team at Fulton works tirelessly, 365 days a year, to save thousands of dogs. This holiday season, let’s give them the chance to save two special dogs of their choosing that have been too long overlooked.

A Deserving Soul Needs Your Help. Donations for Medical Care Needed!

Today, we want to share the story of a gentle, 9-year-old blind shepherd, Ray (aka Ray Charles) who has finally found safety in our care at Change a Life Dog Rescue. After enduring time on the streets as a stray (hard to believe!) and then the cold uncertainty of the shelter, he’s resting quietly now, but his journey is far from complete.

This sweet senior has already known too much fear and confusion. Now, before he can travel to the loving foster family who’s been waiting for him, he’ll need to be neutered, receive all of his vaccinations, and undergo any additional medical care our veterinarian recommends. Only then can we give him the fresh start he so deeply deserves.

Pending applications!

We are looking for the best home for this guy, Maple the Aussie. He comes to our Rescue after being found in an over crowded Georgia shelter. Maple is 2 or 3 yrs old, Male, 51lbs, good on a leash, appears to be housebroken, good with other dogs, fine with a cat. Maple is moderately energetic, sweet and so deserving of a home. Maple left a shelter right on the tail end of a Flu out break. He has been through Respiratory tract infections, has gotten stronger and is poised to get on the transport van tomorrow. Maple had people interested in him but either they were not a great fit or they disappeared- it happens. But we would love to give this guy a home for the holidays. It’s just not right…2 Adopters were interested in Max, then told us they changed their mind (without even meeting him!) So Max sits, and waits for his forever home. Poor Max.
