We love being able to help our neighbors! We delivered 114lbs of puppy food, 116lbs of adult dry dog food, blankets, and disposable p*e pads to Change A Life Dog Rescue in East Haddam.

Another Arctic blast is coming! The Governor has activated CT's severe cold weather protocol beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 and ending at 12 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24. Please bring your pets inside, they are susceptible to hypothermia and frost bite, just like we are. If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for them.

Public Act 22-59 Tethering and Adequate Shelter law states: when either a weather advisory or warning is issued by the National Weather Service, or outdoor environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, snow or hail, pose an adverse risk to the health or safety of a dog based on such dog’s breed, size, age, thickness of coat or physical condition, no person shall (1) tether such dog outdoors to a stationary object or mobile device, including, but not limited to, a trolley or pulley, unless such tethering is for a duration of not more than 15 minutes, or (2) fail to provide such dog adequate shelter for a duration of more than fifteen minutes, unless such person is in the presence of such dog and outdoors during such advisory or warning or exposed to such outdoor environmental conditions.

If you see something, say something. Call your local Animal Control Officer and local authorities and provide the with as much detail as possible.

Frigid temperatures won't stop us! Today we delivered over 275lbs of dog food/treats, over 100 cans of cat food, cleaning supplies, and trash bags to Bridgeport, Connecticut Animal Control 🐾

We'd like to thank Brendan of Swing Bridge Fine Wine & Spirits and all of his customers for their generosity. Between the whiskey auction and cash donations, over $70 was raised for Presents For Paws 🐾🍷

We are greatly appreciative of the opportunity to work with one of our amazing local businesses and help spread the word about our mission to help shelter pets!

We recently visited Glastonbury, CT Animal Control when we saw they were in need of kitten food. We dropped off 14lbs of dry kitten food, 96 cans of wet kitten food, and some cat toys.

The kittens will be available for adoption on January 2nd. Kyra, Lulu, and Cady are still available!

Cady is looking for a quiet home and human companion that understands her moods. She took awhile to warm up to our ACOs, but now loves to engage with them while feeding and cleaning her room. She loves watching everything happen around her. Cady loves looking out the window that's available and loves being loved on when SHE chooses. Cady is a 5 year old, spayed female.

Kyra is a loveable and goofy lady who wants all of your attention! Kyra does require an experienced owner due to her resource guarding, separation anxiety, and high-need of physical and mental exercises. Over time with us, her resource guarding has gotten a little better and her separation anxiety goes down when given a nice walk. She LOVES car rides and being the center of attention. She also loves going to new places and finding all the good smells!
She is a spayed, Siberian husky, 2 years old, and rabies vaccinated!

Miss Lulu is a huge cuddle bug, wanting to be next to you on every adventure, even within and around your home. She does get nervous when it comes to new places, people, or things, but with a confident owner, she gets brave enough to try out new things!
Lulu is 7 years old, spayed female, lab/Hound Mix. She is good with kids 8+ years old. No cats please. She is rabies vaccinated, potty trained. She has a moderate-high energy level. Needs to be ONLY pet. She will need a confident dog owner that will advocate for her when she feels uncomfortable in a new environment.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Essex Resident Trooper's Office, the Regional Animal Control Officers of Essex/Chester/Deep River/Westbrook, the Town of Essex – Government, and the Valley Warrior Baseball team for sharing donations collected from their 4th Annual Pet Food Drive with us!

They collected over 570 lbs of pet food, toys & litter! They were able to stock their local animal shelter full of supplies and our volunteers will deliver the rest to other CT animal shelters in need.

Tutti was found roaming, and now is treated as a pound favorite! She is spoiled with her favorite pass time playing ball! She loves people but best without other dogs or cats. She would love older kids! She adores being with her person/family and follows the ACOs all around. She has an enough s***k for a nice walk, but knows how to cuddle up and get cozy!

Barkley was found roaming back in July. The ACOs have worked with him to cuddle up, but still does not love the pound. He goes to visit with his buddy from time to time and is so happy! He loves cookies and warm blankets! Barkley needs someone with a gentle and calm house one where he can bond with his family. He is not opposed to other doggy friends! But best without kids or cats.

Casey is their oldest at the pound at 8 years old but she still has s***k! She loves people, would be an understatement! She unfortunately lost her owner in April and has been at the pound since. She used to go to work with her owner everyday and greet people who came to visit. She is best without other dogs and cats. Casey loves car rides, short walks, and cuddling with us at the pound. Let's give this girl a second chance at life!!

Our volunteers got to be Santa Paws and recently delivered 230lbs of cat litter and over 40lbs of cat food to the Friends of Old Lyme Animal Control!

First, we need to thank the community and our volunteers for supporting our 17th Annual Shelter Collection Drive!

With your generosity, we collected over 1900lbs of pet food/litter for CT animal shelters, as well as toys, bowls, collars/leashes/harnesses, and beds.

With the holiday season in full swing - we like to share these reminders on how to keep your pets safe through all the hustle n bustle, and to avoid very expensive vet bills.

Rawhide is not good for your dogs. It is one item we do not accept as a donation for animal shelters. Please take the time to watch a video on how it's made, or check out these two articles:
