Our clinic is in need of newspaper 📰. News paper is used in the clinic to line cages to help with any mess and cross contamination purposes from animal to animal. Any donations will be very much appreciated and can be dropped off to the clinic Monday through Thursday at 144 Main Street unit E East Hartford Ct. We thank you in advance and so do the animals. 🐶🐱

POASPAY! Has been blessed with an amazing addition. This area that you see here is what we call our “BEACH”. This is the area where your lovely pets come to recover from their routine spay/ neuter procedure. It is layered with warming blankets regular blankets to keep in the heat and another heating source called a bair hugger which blows hot air. We also use rice socks as warmmies for those extra cold patients. It is essential to make sure patients are with in their normal body temperature after surgery as anesthesia can lower the body temperature.
We only had the floor as you see pictured as our recovery area and now have these elevated work benches for our smaller patients who are closely monitored post surgery as they recover under their nice and warm blankets.
This has been great for the surgical staff as it’s less up and down and strain on their backs as this job can be extremely physical and has long term wear and tear on one’s body. We are extremely grateful for this addition and its long benefit to everyone here!

As this week comes to an end and it being veterinary receptionist week, we at POASPAY! Wanted to sincerely thank our administrative staff for all their hard work that they do on a daily.
From getting everything ready for surgery days, to working on the schedule, and interacting with the clients on a daily basis to making sure everything is up to par. Without you guys we would be a mess and we thank and appreciate all you do year round to keep us ready to go for the next round.

🐶🐶🏡PLEASE SHARE 🐶🐶🏡

Someone came to the shelter the other day and said we are looking for a happy go lucky pit bull and we said oh gosh you have to go see Biggie! And they said yeah we did but his ears are scary 😩

Biggie continues to be overlooked… he’s too big , I don’t like his color , the list goes on and on .
BIGGIE HAS NO IDEA he’s supposed to look scary …
He just wants to be loved .

Biggie has been in a shelter setting for about 210 days … imagine not having a family or familiarity for 210 DAYS 😞

Biggie is such a sweet guy with a happy personality. He did well in the cat room and enjoys pack walking with dogs too . He’s a big guy like 80 pounds so probably no little times because he might knock them over .

Biggie is getting depressed now and doesn’t get up when you go back into the dog room . We are really hoping to find someone to put the waggle back into him .

His favorite pastime is finding squeakers in toys but he also loves going for pup cups , eating snacks , hiking at times and just cuddling .

Biggie is about 3-5 years old .. neutered, vaccinated, etc

We apologize to those trying to make an appointment and not being able to get one as spaying/ neutering is extremely in high demand. Mr. Tator tot is not feeling the camera after his long day and would rather be else where on Valentine’s Day but he got lots of cuddles and we all loved his red nose and floppy ears. 🐶❤️
