Canine influenza, or “dog flu,” is a highly contagious respiratory illness that can be passed from dog to dog. It typically starts with a cough and can be mistaken for the more common and well-known Bordetella. In some cases, canine influenza can progress to pneumonia.

This week our staff had to bid a tearful ‘see you soon’ (because it’s not goodbye!) to our wonderful administrative assistant, Lucie.

Lucie was an integral part of our team here at VCA Foxon for over 11 years. She brightened all our days with a cheerful “Good morning!” followed by her checking in on how we were all doing, and always kept the admin side of the hospital running smoothly.

It’s hard to come by truly special people, and we were lucky enough to have one of them for so many years. Luckily for VCA, Lucie will still be working in other hospitals, but her energy will be sorely missed here at Foxon. Thanks for all your hard work, Lucie! We will miss you 🩷
