I just love seeing them stretch their legs! She has some serious wind up time - swishing a her tail to boot!
Happy and impatient horses live here...
It's always something with Giro...

Incendiar (Jet) doing his thing!
One of these boys was successful on the track - one was not. Any ideas which is which?!?!
Day 3. He can even focus with the Three Foot Terrorist doing Terrorist things in the background.
If you notice, I'm behind the eye now and we are going in together.
Small solid steps forward yields better long term results when you are trying to fix someone else's lack of patience and horsemanship.
This dude has some of the best barrel bloodlines out there - but that means absolutely nothing if we can't get him to a show.
Typically I would stand behind the eye to load, but we aren't that refined yet. My goal now is to get him in the trailer with a little pressure from me. Now it's not JUST on his terms - big game changer.
He's willing to come in - apprehensive, but follows through.
He's also willing to stand and isn't showing any signs of intense panic. Is he alert? Absolutely, but he's in and not flying back out.
We will repeat this half a dozen times. I'll let him finish his breakfast and then, one final time, I'll load him, on my terms and guide him back out on my terms. Then, we call it a day.
It's almost like a marriage - everything is my idea, on my terms and he just thinks he's in charge. No fighting involved 😉.
Jester had a clean run weekend. Maybe I'll actually Jockey him to his full potential soon!
If you're contemplating an OTTB to chase cans, don't over think it!
I've got a few on the farm I expect to surpass Little Jesters success! They are so dang fun!
5 or 6 years ago the only thing he knew was run like hell when the gates popped. And brakes - we didn't have that pedal installed!
I took some time off to bring a Tiny Terrorist into this world and it feels so good to finish what we started. He may not be the fastest, but he gives me his all every single time and thats what truly counts!
The Little Red Thoroughbred that could. He's still my favorite!
It's been nice to have a minute to actually leg up one of my own critters!
If you've ever been on the fence about an OTTB running a strong pattern, look at this little guy. Holding his own with more to give! This put him in the 2D with some awesome riders and nice horses. I'm tickled!
Thanks for the ride Little Man!
Thanks for letting me swing a leg over Little Man! He rocked himself because I totally fiddled around and dropped my reins into the 2nd.
I love the little red OTTBs!
This is a 4 year old mare that's had time to develop her brain and her body, but she'd never been trailered before. When I brought her home it was a solid hour and half to get her in. We tried lots of Thoroughbred tricks and none worked on this Tres Seis Granddaughter. With some lunging to move her feet, she loaded and came home.
Fast forward to now. Day 1 of letting her get comfortable and decide the trailer is not going to eat her face. We sniffed and checked it out for 20 mins, then put front feet in...and back outback they went. Another 10 minutes goes by, her comfort level gets better and she finally put 4 feet in the trailer! Quietly I might add.
So, back out we went and hence this video started.
Trailering doesn't have to be a chore or a fight. Today, I let her explore on her own and she decided it was OK.
I'll let her chill and eat in there for the day. She can bang around all she wants! Tomorrow, same concept, but she will be on a lead. Then, she will have to work with me.
We've done this a whole lot with stellar results.
Take the time - you'll be so thankful you did. Positive experiences yield positive results!
