Well, I'm at the emergency room, because a dog decided my nose would make a great snack - it literally took a chunk out of it! i’m sure I taste terrible. I’m a vegetarian. On the bright side, it could've been worse, right?! I kind of feel bad for the little guy, though - it was clearly fear biting when I took it out of its kennel. I could tell it felt terrible about what it did, especially with my blood dripping out of its mouth. This isn't a 'poor me' story, but rather a reminder that, as a pet groomer, this stuff can happen. So, lesson learned: just because a dog is small and cute doesn't mean it won't bite. Although, in this case, the dog basically launched itself at my face as soon as I opened the kennel - talk about a sneak attack! I'm not mad, though - I love animals, and I know this is just part of the job. But I do want to point out that we asked the client to get their dog a mild sedative for grooming, and they weren't too keen on the idea. Well, I'd like to present my mangled nose as exhibit A - this is why we might ask you to get your dog sedated, folks! It's not because we're trying to be difficult, it's just that sometimes dogs get a little too stressed out, and things can get ugly. So, the next time we ask you to get your dog sedated, just remember: we're trying to avoid any... unpleasantness.
