We are a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue located in East Leroy, Michigan serving Calhoun County My goal is to change this. They did not ask to be born.

Mission Statement: To save, nurture, love and place in nothing less than the perfect home. So many dogs are dropped off in the middle of nowhere, starving, injured or just neglected with no human contact or love. Every dog deserves love and attention, medical treatment when needed, a warm home to sleep, and socialization. But even more importantly, the only way to lessen the number of dogs in she

lters every year that are euthanized because there are not enough homes is to spay and neuter. No dog leaves my rescue without being spayed or neutered. All are also vaccinated and heartworm tested. All they want is to be loved and cared for. In return they will love you unconditionally for as long as they can.

My sweet little Journey has now been with us 7 months. She is still not completely recovered from trauma but is getting there. This girl brings me so much joy and happiness. I would be lost without her. She is definitely my doggie soul mate. For those that adopt dogs like Journey, thank you. The first couple of months may be a little bit of a challenge, but in the end you will have the best dog you could ever ask for!

We had an incident with Macy yesterday that just totally confused me. I had her out of the fence on a leash which we've done many times and she has done great. All of a sudden she became full of fear and just went crazy. She panicked so badly that I ended up on the concrete. I had to let the leash go so I wouldn't get hurt any worse. She didn't go anywhere, just ran around the house in total fear. I got ahold of her and went to take her in the house. Something put the fear of God in her and I just couldn't figure out what it was. The only activity going on outside was 2 people riding by our house on their bicycles. When talking with a friend last night she asked what the puppy mill people have. Ok so no motors, cars, electricity. But they do have bicycles! That's when I realized just what poor Macy must have gone through. Those bicycles just threw her right back into her trauma days. She seemed to be thinking that if she didn't get away immediately she would die. That's how bad it was. This poor, sweet, loyal, amazing dog. What happened to her? What did they do to her? I will never know. But even with a now pulled muscle in my back, I will protect her, love her, reassure her every single day that she is here

Well I was on my way to get another dog but God had a different plan. This dog was running down M66 South of Athens. I've gotten calls on it before but never could find it or catch it. Today was the day she let me walk right up to her and put a leash on her. She is now at Calhoun County Animal Center. She has a chip and I pray that she can be returned to someone that has been missing her for a very long time

Dose anyone in the Athens Area recognize this dog. I just picked it up on M66 South of Athens. Very emaciated. I think this is the one that's been running for at least a couple of months. On its way to Calhoun County Animal Center

Day 12 for this beauty. She took food from my hand for the first time tonight and gave me kisses! I am beyond happy for her! Macy is now vetted and ready for adoption.

One of the little minature Berniedoodle puppies has been in a foster home for the last few days with someone who was considering adopting him. This very nice person tried to make it work. But former puppy mill dogs sometimes need months before they come around. He doesn't know how to play, run around the yard, have some fun. At least not in this situation. He is being vetted tomorrow then will be adoptable on Friday. Call us if interested. A visible fully fenced yard is REQUIRED. Not an invisible fence. Not a partially fenced. Day Five

Something inside of her has changed. I've had this bed down for her for 3 days. This is the first time she has laid on it. We were out in the fenced yard earlier and suddenly she ran. Next thing I know Journey was doing zoomies with her all over the yard.

Show them how it's done Macy. Run run run and enjoy your freedom!
