Oath Animal Hospital has dedicated one exam as a 'cat-only' exam room. Furnished with cat toys and calming pheromones, this room is made to avoid the stress induced by sensing dog smells and helps to create our Low-Stress (cat-specific) environment. I think it's working.

🐶 THIS LITTLE DOGGY 🎶
This little doggy, named Sophie, stayed home,
Ate anything she found wherever she'd roam.
This little doggy, Maverick, made a mess,
Found scraps on the floor, for him, a success!

This little doggy, Sophie, curled up tight,
Dreamed of her toys and a bone every night.
And this little doggy, Maverick, with glee,
Sucked on her ears as gross as can be.

And this little doggy, Sophie, so smelly & sweet,
Snuggled with blankets, so cozy and neat.
But when it was dinner, HERE COMES THE BEASTS,
With bowls full of love, they inhaled all of their feasts!

We’re thrilled to highlight a special moment from March with our local Girl Scout troop! 🩺🐾 Recently, these amazing young scouts visited Oath Animal Hospital to dive into the world of veterinary medicine. They explored what it takes to care for animals, learned about various careers in the field, and discovered the importance of compassion for all living beings. 🐶🐱

It was an inspiring day filled with curiosity and excitement, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to engage with such enthusiastic future leaders. A huge thank you to the Girl Scouts for their visit and to our dedicated team for making it a memorable experience! Here’s to nurturing the next generation of animal lovers and veterinarians. 💚

DAISY! 😍 Yes, I can perform splenectomies at Oath Animal Hospital! So lucky to be there when she needed us 💗

Back in April, sweet Daisy underwent a lifesaving splenectomy. Thankfully, our incredible surgeon Dr. Funk performed the procedure with precision, and our dedicated technician Hayley stayed with her overnight to monitor her recovery and provide plenty of love and care. 💕 Daisy’s strength and resilience, along with the support from our team and her family, helped her pull through, and we are beyond happy to report that she’s been doing WONDERFULLY ever since! 🐾🌟

😬🪥Odi lucks out! 🍀

He had a retained baby tooth that was causing disease to build up next to his adult tooth. After exhausting other options, it was finally time to perform the extraction under anesthesia. 😱 HOWEVER 😱 the morning of dental surgery, I performed my routine pre-anesthestic exam, and guess what... that bad tooth was gone! YAY! No extraction for Odi! He didn't need me at the moment so we sent him home happy as a clam!

Just goes to show you, that things tomorrow can be very different than what they looked like yesterday! Oath Animal Hospital 🏥🐶

Recent stories going around in the news refer to a novel canine respiratory tract infection that is widespread and dangerous. However, NOTHING UNIQUE HAS BEEN ISOLATED AT THIS TIME, and we do not believe there is cause for dog owners to panic. The truth of the matter is that we have been seeing dogs with respiratory tract infections for months now and are not aware of an uptick in cases. Some of the infections are bacterial, and some are viral; as in the case of human colds, few receive enhanced diagnostics to determine the etiologic agent. Dogs that go to doggy daycare, grooming or boarding facilities, dog parks, etc., are at increased risk for contracting respiratory tract infections at any point in time. The best prevention is to avoid these "hot spots" where your dogs would be at increased risk of contracting a contagious disease. There are vaccines available for the more common respiratory infections: Bordetella (Kennel Cough) and Canine Influenza. If your dog is not currently vaccinated for either of these diseases and you would like to start the series, please contact us and make an appointment. Should your pet begin to exhibit signs consistent with a respiratory tract infection (coughing, hacking, sneezing, nasal or ocular discharge, "vomiting" white foam, etc.), please contact us and schedule an appointment for your dog to be seen. Please do NOT bring your pet into the hospital unless directed to do so by a member of our staff as we are trying to reduce the opportunity for spread. If you have any further questions or concerns, please let us know!
