You'd never know from this video how bad a shape Abby was in on her first visit to QCAC. Believe it or not, Abby couldn't use her right arm or leg when I saw her on that initial visit. Standing was an impossibility for Abby, so walking was out of the question. Things looked very grim, but sassy, little Abby has a ton of fight in her and showed tiny bits of improvement with each visit! Once Abby could stand on her own, she attempted walking. And even though most of these attempts ended in falls, Abby was persistent. Her strength, coordination, and balance improved. Now she's struttin' her stuff for longer and longer walks! Abby still has some fine-tuning to accomplish, but we're all so proud of this girl, and Abby knows that the sky is the limit! WAY TO GO, ABBY!!!
Good turn out for the breakfast club this morning!
Hi. My name is Kibbles. I'm a 20 yr old Tuxedo, and I'm "well-adjusted"!
Talk about an overachiever!!! Our latest MIRACLE PET, Sammy, was carried into QCAC on August 21st. Sammy could even stand up on his own, much less take any steps to walk. But, Sammy wasn't about to give up. This is a video of him just 9 days later! Sammy is so happy to be on all fours again, and he hopes to be an inspiration to all those in the future who find themselves in a similar situation. GREAT JOB, SAMMY!!!
I have an update on Remy the Wonder Dog. Remy came in for his second visit, and boy is he doing great! He has doubled his body weight from 12 lbs. to a much healthier 24 lbs.!! And his personality is really starting to come out and shine. It's so heartwarming to see how happy he is, and how much he loves life now. Another big "thank you" to Jill and the good people at Kings Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter 563 386 3117 for nursing Remy back to health and giving him the life he so rightly deserves. WAY TO GO, REMY!!!
WAY TO GO MACKENZIE!!!
Sweet, little MacKenzie was carried into QCAC on July 8th because she couldn't use her rear left leg. Nobody could figure out what was going on, and things looked pretty bleak for this 13 yr old Yorkie. But, MacKenzie was determined to get back up on all fours, and 2 weeks later, that is exactly what she did! Great job, MacKenzie!!!
MEET OUR LATEST MIRACLE DOG: CHARLIE!!!
Charlie came in for his first visit to QCAC on May 15th with rear leg paralysis due to intervertebral disc disease. Though his situation looked bleak, Charlie had a great determination to get back on his feet. That determination and hard work paid off! This was Charlie on June 22nd walking again without any assistance. Charlie will continue to improve and should be back to 100% in no time. Congratulations, Charlie. You'll be an inspiration to those in the future who come in with the same condition!
