❤️SPECIAL ADOPTIONS ALERT❤️

To celebrate November as Adopt a Senior Pet Month, we are thrilled to announce that our two special seniors have found a forever home together.
Jeets and Lily were originally adopted together, 11 years ago as kittens, but returned to the shelter last year due to a medical situation in the family.
Their recent online story attracted a young couple who had recently lost their cats to old age.
As soon as the couple entered the cat room, Jeets came running over to introduce himself, looking for pets. Lily then joined the group to get in on the action.
It was love all around and Jeets and Lily were once again leaving the shelter together.
Before that happened, their first family (who loved them very much and were devastated when they were no longer able to keep them) was called. They rushed over to say goodbye and thank Jeets and Lily’s new family for opening up their hearts to them.
We are so thankful that we have angels living among us, willing to give these older cats a second chance for happiness.

🐾🐈‍⬛❤️SNEAK PREVIEW❤️🐈‍⬛🐾

Our newest member at Grateful Paw is Ainsley, who is currently in a foster home learning her manners until she's ready for adoption in December.

Her foster mom says, “She is so playful. Anything you put out in front of her, she will attack!! And she’s also an escape artist. I can’t walk into the room before she is running out before I can close it. So needless to say, she is the earliest we have ever set up the maze for!! And she is loving the freedom!!
She’s a good eater too.”

We look forward to updates on this cutie.

ADOPT A SENIOR PET MONTH.

Meet Serendipity, one of our senior cats. Rescued as a kitten, she arrived at the shelter on June 25, 2014. Unfortunately, Serendipity was frequently passed over because black cats are half as likely to be adopted as other cats. She's now starting to come out of her shell but remains timid around strangers, often observing from a cubby.

Our dream is that, no matter how long it takes, all our cats will find their homes.

🐾❤️ADOPTION ALERT❤️🐾

At just over a year old, Spotty has had two litters of kittens. The first litter was our “Q” kittens, which included our Quinn, who still needs a forever home. Spotty then unexpectedly gave birth again just before her spaying was scheduled, and those kittens will be available for adoption next month.
Luckily, Spotty was adopted by the family who asked for help with her situation.
🎉Congratulations to Spotty and her furrever family. We promise to work hard to get all your babies homes of their own.

🐾❤️ADOPTION UPDATE❤️🐾

We have pictures to share from Kiki and Koko's family. You may remember they were adopted in September, but never returned to the cat shelter after becoming foster failures. Kiki is now named Honey Cider, and Koko is now Cooper. Their favorite spots are the bathtub and on top of the gecko's cage - they're very silly kitties.

❤️🐾FELINE FRIDAY 🐾❤️

November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month. To kick off this month, we'd like to introduce our senior cats, Lily and Jeets. They were adopted together as kittens from us 11 years ago and returned last year due to medical issues in their previous home. Having experienced the love of a family for many years, we hope they'll find a new family to cherish them for their remaining years. Are you that special family?

❤️Huntington’s Pets of the Week❤️

How can anyone resist this adorable face? Ivie has been waiting here since mid-June for her forever family. She has seen her kitten friends leave with their new families, yet she remains. We are baffled.

❤️🐾❤️FREAKY FELINE FRIDAY❤️🐾❤️

The R kittens have finally joined the other kittens in the Kitten Room. Last week, their sister Rebecca was adopted.
Rory is a tabby and white polydactyl kitten. She is the runner of the group, always looking to escape the cage or the room she is situated. Rory is "very mischievous" and has the cutest "grumpy" face all the time.
Robin, the mackerel tabby, is a clinger. She is extremely needy and
constantly wants to be in the foster mom’s lap.
They love to play with each other. Their favorite toys are the springs, the stuffed mice and their fish with feathers.

You can meet them at the:
Grateful Paw Cat Shelter
3 Verleye Ave
East Northport NY 11731
(631) 757-4517

Opened: Tuesday to Sunday 12:00pm to 4:00pm

🇺🇸National Pets For Veterans Day🇺🇸

It all started with a dog named Bear. Bear was quite the ham and knew how to interact differently based on the individual needs of the Veterans. He would lie quietly on the bed if needed or put his paws up to encourage others. This led many Veterans to ask if they could take Bear home with them. Bear’s owner thought, “why is therapy one hour a week inside when it could be 24/7 at home?” Since Bear was spoken for, his owner thought she could help more veterans find their own Bear to help them rehabilitate. To spread the word, we’re celebrating Bear and all other Service Animals on October 21!

❤️🐾❤️ADOPTION ALERT❤️🐾❤️

Now you see her, now you don't. Rebecca went from foster care to her new home in under two days. This followed a couple's adoption of Queenie last month, after which they referred his parents to us to adopt a kitten.
Rebecca will be joining her new brother, Quincy, a 2 year old Maine C**n.
May your future be filled with love, cuddles, and endless treats.
