Quincy (now Leo, short for Leonardo) is very well adjusted. He’s such a ham and he loves my kids. He eats well, goes to the bathroom right away in the litter pan. He is honestly the best cat and we are so happy with him.

Join us for a parade at noon on Northport's Main Street, followed by sidewalk sales and vendor booths in Village Park featuring arts, crafts, and local non-profits.
Newton Shows provides rides and games for kids and kids at heart.
Be sure to visit the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter booth at the #5 spot. We’ll have raffle baskets, sweatshirts and giveaways.

Senior shelter pets are often passed over for younger animals, resulting in increased euthanasia rates and long adoption waits.

🐱❤️BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT❤️🐱
Spotty went to the vet to get spayed, but she had other plans and gave birth to four kittens this past Tuesday.
We are happy to announce the birth of the “T” kittens on September 10, 2024. Their genders are currently unknown, but we will keep you updated on their progress.
They will be available for adoption after Thanksgiving, ideal for the holidays. If you can't wait, their older siblings, Queenie, Quincy, and Quinn - the 'Q' kittens - are available now.

A calico cat, of any breed, typically has a tri-color coat, consisting of white, orange, and black, with the possibility of other colors in their pattern, and is almost exclusively female.
Calico cats are believed to bring good luck in many cultures' folklore. In Germany, they are called 'Glückskatze' or 'lucky cat.' In the US, they are sometimes referred to as money cats. Japanese Maneki-neko figures depict calico cats for good luck, and sailors often kept them as ship's cats to prevent misfortune.

Lily is our first September adoption.
Her new mom fell in love at first sight upon seeing Lily's Facebook post. She couldn't visit during our regular hours but booked an appointment for our Thursday evening hours.
Lily will now be living in Queens with her new big brother Loki. We look forward to updates on how she is settling in with her new family.❤️

Natalie was adopted in early January and we have the latest update from her family.
“Natalie is famous for her “love bites.” Every morning when I’m getting her wet food ready she comes up to me and starts nibbling at my ankles. I must look ridiculous as I’m hopping up and down from one foot to another because kitten teeth are sharp! Lol. Her 75 pound Golden Retriever brother is a little scared of her because she likes to nibble his ears 😂 She loves to roll around on her back and have her stomach pet. She’s so long when she stretches all the way out!”

Felix, a 9-month-old cat, arrived at the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter in June. He had a scary beginning; abandoned or tossed out of a car on the Southern State Parkway at only 5 weeks old. However, with love and attention in his foster home, he finally settled down and relaxed. Felix is shy initially but once you start petting him, head scratching, chin rubbing then motor starts nonstop!! Felix would do best in a home with another friendly feline companion (we have some shelter buddies for him here) or a canine friend, as he loves company!

He is finding comfort under the bed so we have given him his space and been inviting him outside twice a day by showing toys and treats. He’s really loving Churu treats so one way we finally got him to eat today was to cover his dry food in churu. He did drink a lot of water just now as well so we are happy to see him get a bit more comfortable. He has been exploring his space when the house is fully quiet (he has anxiety and any sort of noise scares him) so definitely time and patience is required for him to get fully comfortable. We think it will take another week for him to come outside his space/room to see the entire house. We will send over more videos of him once he gets fully comfortable.”😊
