That’s finally a wrap for the 2024 season! Just in time to start again 😂 Couple of things for this year:

1) Let’s talk prices. My deer will remain at $700 with a $200 deposit for shoulder mounts. Squirrels, minks, and weasels will remain at $300 with a $100 deposit. Foxes and beavers will be $1,000+ depending on habitat add ons with $400 deposit. Coyotes will start at $1,200, open mouth coyotes will start at $1,500 with $500 deposit. Bear life size mounts will start at $2,500 with $700 deposit.

2) At some point in the upcoming months, I will be moving my shop to my garage in Cattaraugus. For now, I am still in the same place on Colvin rd, and I will keep everyone posted when the move happens.

Season is coming right up! Good luck everyone!

Here’s a big one 😮‍💨 13 hours on this water Buffalo from Argentina, and I still didn’t get it completely finished! Another taxidermist had to take over for setting the ears and some other finishing touches, but this is how far I got it. It took up half my shop and weighed enough that I had my mounting stand weighted down with my fleshing beam, a gallon of glue and a gallon of bondo… and it was still tipping 😂

Oh. My. Goodness 😍🥰 🐻 🍯 🐝

Love the idea the customer had for this little Canadian bear! I did a lot of altering to the form, but it was so worth it!! 😍 the coyote went together very easily for this pose, never done one like this before! And then for the fisher, the customer stained and coated the post that he’s posing on, and he looks so darn cute!

Lots of pictures of finished mounts piling up in my camera roll! Also, apparently there’s a good number of people hearing that I’m closing up shop/ going out of business. That is NOT true. While I’m flattered that some jerks love keeping my name in their mouths and in their thoughts-enough to talk about me constantly- unless you hear a business update from me directly, please disregard it 😂

My whole life, I’ve loved the idea of handling an arctic fox. The bizarre color, fur, lifestyle, habitat… all of it seemed incredible. This week, I got to work on 2 of them that were harvested like, closer to the North Pole than I’ll ever be 😂 not a single tick, flea, or mite on them. Just insane fluffy fur. Their toenails are way longer than the foxes around here, and they have so much fur on their paws, you can’t see their paw pads at all. Anyhow, here’s what they look like! Yes, I know, the full mount is dirty and needs to be washed again. You’ll have that after 8.5 hours of mounting 😂

Lots of work banged out! Done with all the pack mounts, got some other large and small game done, and of course, lots of shoulder mounts. I will NOT be taking in any turkeys/pheasants/birds anymore. I dabbled with birds over the last couple years, and discovered I do not have the tools, space, or patience for them. Just going to be sticking to mammals!

It’s April, which means 10 years. A whole decade since baby Haley decided to take a 3 day class on whitetails, and made the choice to skip college and go with the trade of taxidermy.

Since then, I’ve got my driver’s license, graduated high school, been married and divorced, moved 7 times, had 4 cats and my old shop doggo who’s still with me, found an incredible man to spend forever with and worked on over 200 deer.
By the end of this upcoming 10th season, I will have worked on animals from 3 countries, 2 continents, and had animals or customers from 13 states and Canada.

I’ve worked on whitetail and mule deer, red, gray and silver foxes, coyotes, red, gray, black, albino and fox squirrels, chipmunks, woodchucks, skunks, a possum, a porcupine, bobcats, a bull, bears, beavers, turkeys, weasels, minks, fishers, a ringtail cat, a pheasant, and antelope- just to name a few!

I’ve had some great mentors along the way. Bill, Barry(R.I.P.), Glenn, Bob, Mike, and countless others have helped shape my work into what it is today. It’s been a constant learning experience and idk if I’ll ever actually be done learning.

It all started with a 10X14 Amish built shed. I insulated it, my dad helped me get electric in it, my mom helped me lay the linoleum in it, and they both helped me get the osb up in it. And that served as my shop for years until I added a small addition, which was also quickly outgrown.

What a ride it has been! I’ve had some amazing customers that have stuck with me through the years, been patient with me as I’ve learned and bettered myself, spread the word about my business, and never once complained about price! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my customers past, present, and future for making this all happen! I can’t wait to see where the next decade takes me. It certainly flew by too quick! Here’s some pictures of the start of the journey!

This one gets a post of his own… this buck had a crazy overbite. I’ve had some in before, but never one this drastic. Not sure how it happened, or how he ate or drank anything with his nose sticking 1 1/4 inches away from his bottom jaw. I had the roof of the mouth custom made, altered the form, put it all together and got it all painted. I’d say he turned out pretty good!

These two pedestal mounts were for a newlywed couple, who doubled up a few weeks before their wedding. Congrats Jeff and Jessica! Working on getting the next batch mounted, and after they’re all drying, all the archery bucks that came in will be mounted and it’ll be onto firearm bucks!

I hope everyone had a merry Christmas! Here’s a few things I managed to get pictures of that got finished up in time for the Christmas celebrations… there were more that I didn’t get pictures of before they left. I still have more to finish, and then I’ll be starting the next batch of mounting. I had hoped to be much further ahead by now, but good old Covid had other plans 🫠 hopefully, shortly after new year’s, I can get back to work!
