This is a PSA regarding scared and timid kitties.
The video below shows Parmesan. She was rescued from the horrible house in Putnam County that just allows cats to congregate and reproduce with no medical care.
She and her kittens were rescued by a friend of AHHA with colds and goopy eyes etc.
After receiving meds for their colds and spending some extra time with mom, the kittens came to a foster home and Parm was spayed.
Parm was very timid. She pulled away from any human interaction and kept to herself.
Through some networking, an adoptive home was found. The adopter knew how timid she was and wanted to give her a quiet place to live where she could relax on her own terms.
Parmesan hid in closets, under furniture but slowly she ventured out and becam friends with the resident senior dog.
After three weeks she decided her new mom wasn’t bad after all and the video below shows how she’s giving her mom head butts and learning to love.
Adopting a shy kitty is so rewarding as they decide to love you.
Some may take days, or weeks, or even months but are so worth the love and affection you get from them when they decide to trust you.
Many times these scared kitties have no other option but being a barn cat and living an outdoor life.
AHHA Rescue Currently has five scared older kitties available for adoption that were rescued from euthanasia simply because they were scared and considered un-adoptable . We believe they will make good family kitties given the time and correct home. Contact us for more info.
Please don’t overlook the shy, timid, older kitties. They NEED and DESERVE a loving indoor home too.

Sweet Lexie can entertain herself for hours!!
She and her sister, Lana, are still available for adoption.
Everyone meet Feather (Tortie) and Diamond (gray).
Both are young little orphans approximately four weeks old.
Feather was found in the middle of the highway in Putnam County and taken into rescue last week.
She definitely needed a friend and yesterday a friend of the rescue reached out with little Diamond who was recently found all alone.
They are both thriving and eating and gaining weight and have even already mastered the litter box!
Stay tuned to watch them grow!
