Been keeping a secret. A Journey to Furever let me foster this little doll. Meet Ryder. Her adopter is picking her up early next week after spay. Tsarev will miss her but I promised him I’d foster more 😍

Gots my teef cleaned and something unmentionable done yesterday. I not happy about my manhood, but my teef are super clean!
Adopt…don’t shop.
Tsarev!
I often hear, they only have pitties at shelters. So..your point. Wait that wasn’t my message. Today I saw a husky, a shepherd, several long shiny haired dogs (might have a lil pit in them), a Chihuahua, a chi-weenie, and a ton of sweet faces. Not one failed to lick my hand when I placed it up against the gate the their kennel, not one wasn’t happy to see me…..adopt a damn dog (or cat).
As always Putnam County Animal Control has the prettiest babies around. Crimson is a little shy and wants a furever.
Nobody understands why that big handsome Mr. Cuddles is still at AC. How about you adopt him and change that!
Next up are the cute little dogs….i don’t know their names but I’ll update post when I do. Everyone wants a small dog. Go adopt them! That little brown dog is screaming my name…must help him find furever cuz Bri says NO MORE!
A Journey To Furever is doing a fundraiser so that we can continue to help the animals in Putnam and surrounding counties. We work a lot with Putnam County Animal Control to sponsor spay and neuter and have helped with medically needy animals. We run mostly on donations and without the help of caring people we wouldn't have the means to continue to help.

Today we were able to have an experienced chihuahua foster pic up these 1lb parvovirus positive chihuahua pups from Putnam County Animal Control. They have a rocky road ahead yo fight this virus and size is not on their side. We had already begun treatment for them. Anyone wishing to make a donation to help save these pups, no amount is too small.

Thanks for your support!
Kiki gets fixed today and goes to her foster to adopt home this week.
Scooter visited with his friends and tested out the lake water. He had a blast!
Twitchy had her vet check up today. They did not feel she needed xrays, in fact, compared to last year they think this Senior kitty with osteoarthritis on her meds and in her wheelchair is marked improvement from last year and want us to continue her care. They feel that she is living and loving life!
Heathcliff is healing well and off too his new foster tomorrow and will be available for adoption after his vaccinations!
Twitchy is our Senior Fospice kitty. She was at the Putnam County Animal Control and her hind end started giving out. we had a Hospice Foster come forward that agreed Twitchy could reside there for the time she has left. She has her one years comparison xrays tomorrow at Keystone Heights Animal Hospital. We hope to hear she is improving or atleast maintaining. She has been walking with a wheelchair for atleast 6 months now!
Donations make helping animals like this possible. No amount is too small and is always appreciated.

Kathy and Russel have been fostering with intent to adopt Bella that we pulled from PCAC a few weeks ago. Their story is unique and heart warming.
Kathy saw a kitten we had for adoption named Stormy. She had a short while prior lost her senior kitty she had a lifetime, sole pet(child) and loved to the core. His loss was taken so hard she had become depressed. She was so depressed her Dr. Actually prescribed her to find another feline companion to heal with. She just missed being able to adopt Stormy by 1 day. We offered to show her other kittens, but it was something about Stormy. Kathy filled out an application for pre approval in case we came across her dream kitty and had her desired personality and breed, but was broken hearted. As fate had it, a single kitten identical to Stormy in every way including an exact personality match for Kathy showed up at the shelter. We called her and arranged them to meet. It was love at first meet for both of them! We rescue pulled her when Kathy confirmed she would foster her for us while completing medical to see if they got along at home. After 1 night they messaged me to say she wasn't leaving. Kathy's husband fell violently Ill during this time, and almost didn't survive. Just 2 weeks after being released from the hospital, he was home and they were anxious to finalize her adoption! Bella was the light in their darkest hour that kept them going. Congratulations Kathy, Russell and Bella!💙
Kitten season is right around the corner. We are now accepting applications for kitten fosters. We need a count so we can know how many foster kits we need. You supply the safe home, give weekly updates and take to get appointments and adoption events,(or work with us ahead of time to schedule a transport if necessary) we cover supplies and medical. We do do back ground checks, vet references as well for the safety of our rescues. If interested please message for further information or for foster application.
Just a short video of Scooters progress now that his Dr. Has seen the video and is thrilled!
Heathcliff had his first post op dressing change. Pictures were sent to his Veterinarian and they are happy with his healing so far! We have learned it takes more than 1 person to changes his bandages. Not because he is mean, 1 person is required to rub him🤣
Heathcliff wants everyone to know he is having a great morning the day after surgery!

Our senior fospice kitty Twitchy (in a wheelchair) had a training date last week to show scooter the ropes in his loaner wheelchair while he was still waiting on his to arrive.
Another video. The staff surprised me and had him in it when I picked him up from his vet visit. (This is on loan for him)
Scooter met his specialist at Keystone Heights Animal Hospital. They happen to have a wheelchair in his size that he is getting to borrow while waiting on his to arrive. He has started accupuncture, has rectal and bladder tone and knows when he has to go. The bullet is in a precise location only a neurosurgeon can remove and could still permanently completely paralyze and drastically reduce his quality of life. Laser treatment is off the table, as they do not want the bullet lodged in his spine heated up. We have already ordered an identical wheelchair to the one his likes and is comfortable in and cost us 1/2the price as the one we were going to order. Donations may be made via: PayPal: [email protected] Cash app: $ajourneytofurever Venmo: ajourneytofurever-1 Or you may put money on his account at Keystone Heights Animal Hospital 352-473-4966 for Scooter under A Journey To Furever
Simba is his name. He is headed for x-rays and possible amputation depending on what the x-ray shows.
Sunshine is now 4lbs at 5 months old! She was born tiny and underweight of 8 kittens total to a kitten for a mama. She has lived from birth in the vets office, but is now fixed and vaccinated and ready for her Furever home. Message us if interested in adopting this special little girl!
Saba is a cat we pulled the shelter months for a barn job,he was depressed and shutting down. His Farm changed hands, and it seemed he didn't care for the new management and left. He showed up at a property with his eye draining from a dental infection, and the property owners didn't want him there and took to a vet to be put down. The vet scanned for a chip and was able to trace him back to us and we picked him up this morning. He is at our vet and being treated for his dental infection before he goes to his new home. Donations are appreciated and always needed. PayPal: [email protected] Cash app: $ajourneytofurever Venmo: ajourneytofurever-1
Remember Otis the paralyzed kitty from Bradford County Animal Control? He is still waiting to be cleared by UF Neurology to be officially welcomed to our rescue. HOWEVER, he has been our medical foster since day 1! Look at his progress!
What's better than one amputee kitten playing with a laser pointer? TWO! Both girls just discovered the laser pointer tonight and have been having a blast! Padme arrived at AJTF after her left front leg was caught by a lawn mower blade. She had to have an emergency amputation. Leia arrived to AJTF a week later after she fell out of a car engine causing her to need her right front leg amputated. They have been kept separate until recently and since they have become best friends. Both girls absolutely LOVE dogs, people and mostly, eachother. They will be available for adoption once they're fully vetted. We are accepting adoption applications now. You can email us at [email protected]. If you would like to donate to help us be able to continue to help more like these two and others in our rescue it would be greatly appreciated.
