Chance is leaving South Carolina to start a new life in New York, but we need to find a foster home for him. Once he arrives in New York, he will be examined by a surgeon and will undergo reconstructive surgery. This poor baby was found wandering the streets of Charleston, an area known for dog fighting and abuse. After a veterinary examination, we learned that Chance’s mouth was likely zip-tied, and his nose was possibly cut off. We are committed to doing everything we can to improve his quality of life because Chance deserves the best care. 🐶 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 • How adorable is Oriana? Our pretty girl is ready for her forever home! We rescued Oriana a few months ago after she was despicably surrendered to the 69th precinct in Brooklyn. The officers told the person that Oriana would have to go to the shelter and might be euthanized, and the person said “Okay”. We then brought Oriana to the veterinarian, as she had embedded stitches from our poorly cropped ears. The veterinarian then realized that Oriana had a spay tattoo. We believe that Oriana had to undergo a C-section and that she was spayed during the C-section. When we rescued her, she was still lactating. This is why Oriana was despicably surrendered to the 69th precinct in Brooklyn. Because the “owner” couldn’t make money off her puppies anymore. Oriana is a good girl, and her life matters to us. This is why we must find her the perfect home! All she wants is love. She is also great with other dogs with proper introduction, but would also do just fine as an only dog. Oriana has tons of energy, which is also something to take into consideration. ❤️‍🩹 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 • Our little Texan is experiencing snow for the first time! Ranger is such an incredible dog. He has adjusted rapidly to his new foster home with @c.legit5 and is learning what it feels like to have a home, something we don’t think Ranger has previously experienced. When we say that Ranger would fit in with any family, we mean it! He is that amazing! Last week, Ranger underwent a second amputation surgery after his initial surgery was performed poorly. Since then, Ranger has been healing beautifully, and his drain will be removed in a few days. To think that just a few weeks ago, Ranger was found abandoned in the trunk of a pickup truck amidst trash, then lost his leg due to a botched surgery and had to undergo a second surgery, followed by a third surgery and final amputation. Ranger never deserved any of this, but he is the most resilient little boy. He never complained once, and his tail always wagged. We will keep everyone updated on his journey. 🐶 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗮𝗻 • Our handsome Damian is ready for a home of his own! We do not know whether Damien has ever known what a loving home is, but we do know it is time for him to find one! Damian’s story is heartbreaking. Damian was found roaming the streets of a bad neighborhood in Florida over a year ago. His head was severely swollen, he had flies swarming him, and he was hours away from dying. Damian’s jugular was out, as his previous “owner” left him with an embedded collar. After months in custody, Damian was finally released and came to us. His previous owner/abuser was thankfully sentenced to pay for his life-saving surgeries, and is now on a no-animals list. 💕 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗟𝗼𝗹𝗮 • We are happy to welcome Lola on board, and cannot wait to see what the future holds for her. A few weeks ago, a heartbroken family reached out to us in desperation about Lola, a four-year-old Dogo Argentino, UKC registered, who had been raised with her sister. Their happy life turned tragic when a fight broke out between the two dogs, leading to repeated conflicts and eventual separation. Seeking help, the family consulted their veterinarian, Dr. Lafarro from Emerson. Shockingly, without examining Lola, he recommended euthanasia, claiming Dogo Argentinos are dangerous. He insisted that Lola could not be rehomed, predicting she would suffer from depression and anxiety, and that euthanasia was the only option. His assertions were infuriating and misleading; if true, they would imply no dogs could ever be rescued. The cost for euthanasia was quoted at $800, adding to the family’s distress. Feeling lost and afraid for Lola, they sought other avenues for help. When we learned of Lola’s situation, we were appalled. It’s unacceptable for a veterinarian to suggest euthanasia without a thorough examination or any medical testing. The notion of sibling rivalry in dogs, often called littermate syndrome, was evidently unknown to him. A simple search could have provided the necessary insight, but instead, he pushed for Lola’s death. The family felt hopeless after their conversation, believing the veterinarian prioritized profit over compassion. This heartbreaking story motivated us to step in. Lola deserves a second chance, and we are committed to helping her find it. We are reaching out for your support in finding a loving foster home for Lola. She has been an amazing companion for many years, and she truly deserves a safe and caring environment where she can thrive.
