Melody, Creek, and Meadow all tried something new today! Melody handled both dogs in beginner novice obedience. Meadow got her 1st qualifying leg to her BN title, & Creek earned his 1st and 2nd qualifying leg towards his title. We had quite a few bumps and found out that they can do anything perfect in training and still go to the trial and act like they are a stray off the street that you just showed up with 😂🤷‍♀️🤭 just gotta roll with it. She got the obedience bug either way

Last but not least of our pack updates: Iris! Iris and Melody have completed puppy class (pre K) 🤭, she has worked on more tricks for her intermediate tricks title (stay tuned), and continues to learn to be a show dog. We are letting her grow up a little and fill in with muscle before her ring debut. She is ALL gas and minimal breaks so good luck to Melody 🫣🤪

Melody and Creek have been having success in the Juniors Showmanship ring as well as the Breed ring the past few months. Pulling some Best Of Breeds,Best of Opposite S*x, 1st in age group in juniors and Best Junior in specialty. This cute team is getting more fluid each show!

Meadow has completed obedience 2! Melody is planning to trial her in some beginner novice obedience coming up in the fall and get her intermediate tricks title

Trying to beat the heat today (how did I miss that the building wasn’t air conditioned!?!?) luckily I brought the cooling beds AND cooling towels for their feet, a fan, and lots of water!

NEW JUNIOR HUNTER! Iris earned her JH title this weekend 1 day over 8 months old. Always junior owner handled in all venues. Melody and Iris had to earn 4 qualifying passes to earn this title, she is graded on Trainability, Hunting, Bird finding, and Pointing. Thank you to Tom & Kristen Mathis for encouraging Melody to do a hunt test and for helping her train. I took Creek out for some practice, and brought Meadow to watch. She got to do so many new things! Walk in mud and tall grass/brush- loved it. Hear gunshots from afar-nothing, watch Creek heel and retrieve- AMPED her up🤣 she kept pointing at the partridge and watching the doves fly away, she loved the bird cages too. She even got to “find” her own bird in the field. Our friend and trainer Elijah, is Creek’s biggest hype man. He takes the best videos of all his dogs! This weekend was just more MH practicing. You can always check the videos out on all the dogs he trains, boards, and has sessions with on his IG: heartlandhunting.
