Please, if your family wants a dog or a puppy for Christmas, please go to the local shelter and adopt. This is Lucy, Dr. Mark and Dr. Melanie’s precious girl from a shelter. All our local shelters are full with waiting lists, and what better gift than to bring home a helpless fur baby and give them the life that they deserve? We also have some lists of puppies and dogs waiting for homes that the shelters can’t hold, so email us also and we will point you in the right direction.

Last night was wonderful, participating in the Christmas parade in Prestonsburg! We had two absolutely wonderful helpers who gave out stuffed animals, high fives, hugs, and took so many photos with the kids! A big thank you to our practice manager, Ashleigh, for coordinating donations of toys from several of the pharmaceutical companies that we work with. Everyone meet Polly!
Polly has a very severe case of mastitis, and is incredibly painful. The photos don’t convey just how painful she truly is. Between her incredibly swollen breast, the lesions are completely through multiple layers and open with infection.

Polly needs our help NOW! She is in a very dangerous state with infection and we are beginning treatment. Polly will need ongoing care, to continue to recover!

LET US BE YOUR REMINDER!

🐶If your dog needs a bath before Thanksgiving, give us a call! (Yes your Mother-in-Law will notice🫣)

🐶If your pet needs medication before the long holiday, give us a call! (We will be closed Thursday-Sunday)

🐶If your pet will need nausea medication before your travels, give us a call! (No one wants to be the one to clean the car after a long car ride)

🐶If your cat needs a nail trim before the kids arrive Thursday, give us a call! (Because let’s face it they will all want to play with the cat)

🐶If your pet becomes incredibly stressed with the extra people in your home, there is medication to help-give us a call! (It’s always much calmer when the dog is also calm)

🐶If your family is bringing a pet to your home and your pet is due for vaccines or If you are taking your pet to someone’s home, vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate! (we promise little Fluffy will thank you later)

🐶Please remember that those sad eyes during dinner will pass within minutes, but those upset tummies will last for days! Avoid feeding your pet table food if at all possible in the days to come.

EAST POINT! We need your help! Our clinic cat Phoebe wondered outside yesterday evening, and that’s very unlike her. We have been searching high and low and know that she’s very good at locating the best hiding places. We are hopeful she’s staying close by but we also know with the homes and apartments near by she may have been welcomed in by someone and if so we appreciate you greatly for looking after our Pheb’s but if you happen to see her please drop her off or we have left a crate beside our porch, for someone to leave her in If located. We miss her greatly and Joey and Walter are also missing her. If you happen to see her feel free to message any of us or leave her in the crate at the clinic❤️(her chest is currently white) please tag anyone you may know who lives near our clinic near Travis branch in any of the homes or apartments. ❤️

At Country Hills Veterinary Hospital, we deeply care about the animals and their families affected by hurricanes Helene and Milton. Starting tomorrow, we will be collecting donations to support these fur babies and their loved ones. We understand that times are challenging, but every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. We are accepting donations of cat food, dog food, and horse feed, as well as non-perishable items, hygiene products, and water. For those who prefer, we also offer a PayPal option for purchasing needed supplies. Donations can be dropped off at the clinic from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Thank you for your generosity and support during this difficult time. We will be taking the donations down to two of our very own nurses are currently in vet school at Lincoln Memorial University , which are involved in hurricane relief efforts. ❤️‍🩹 𝓐𝓷𝓰𝓮𝓵 𝓐𝓵𝓮𝓻𝓽 ❤️‍🩹 𝕄𝕖𝕖𝕥 𝔹𝕠… We had a wonderful lady who found 2 kittens, one of which was showing signs of being unable to walk with his back legs. After careful examination and X-rays, we found at minimum 5 fractures in this little guys body. He appears to be a tough little guy, with tons of spunk, and fighting hard to recover. We want to offer him the best possible care over the next couple of weeks while he heals here with us. ❤️‍🩹🐈‍⬛We would appreciate any assistance, for his upcoming care and treatment, to ensure he is back up on all fours and living his best life in the very near future. 🐈‍⬛❤️‍🩹 PayPal: chvh3467 Phone: 606-886-3467

HOLIDAY UPDATE!❤️ A couple of weeks ago we recieved a call regarding a dog that had been hit by a car on Holiday Inn hill. Our staff immediately went and picked her up. She had some pretty serious wounds and was covered in ticks. After an exam and X-rays, we found a severly fractured pelvis. Concerned with her recovery, our doctors and nurses gave her the best possible fighting chance. Today she is walking!! Her care is still on going and we are currently on the hunt for a wonderful foster home for her as she continues her care with us. This is living proof as to how the “Kelli Lee Legacy Angel Fund” serves the animals in our community who rely on us for care in their time of need.
