An idea: Lets create easy ways for homeowners to offer their yards to those who would like areas to farm/cultivate. Eventually I hope to have a sign that can be downloaded from this site, and below please find some sample agreements that can be used as templates for the purpose of generating more local urban (and possibly suburban) agriculture = FOOD!

Yeah, East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District!

For farmers residing, working, selling within East Multnomah county, there will be a series three of Farmland Access Fundamentals workshop sessions starting January 23. East Multnomah SWCD, Friends of Family Farmers, Oregon Agricultural Trust, and Rogue Farm Corps are partnering to provide education on farmland leasing, farmland purchasing, and farm financing. Lunch is provided and your registration fee will be refunded after you attend the workshop!

This hardy plant loves our wet Northwest winters as much as our hot, dry summers.  All parts are edible and medicinal.  Perk up a salad, mixed with chicories, arugula and dandelions.  Or braise the leaves with other tender winter greens like bok choy and mallow.
