‼️BIGGEST GOODEST BOY ALERT!‼️

We’d like to welcome this gentle and handsome giant, Apollo, to our ERAH family. He had his first acupuncture appointment with Dr. Meaghan today and was an absolute gentleman. He’s 231 pounds of pure good boy and wore his hot pink acupuncture needles like a champ!

We hope you are already feeling better from the session today, Apollo!!

ATTENTION CLIENTS:

Due to potential for severe weather tomorrow, we are asking anyone with an appointment, or anyone that needs to have their pet seen, to please call prior to coming to the office in the event we do not have power, or have had to close for staffing issues. We do not anticipate closure, but we don’t want clients to risk driving in the weather should we have to close unexpectedly.

Meet Tasha
Tasha is one of our amazing staff members that are caring for your furry, feathered, and scaly friends. She has been with us since 2012 and is our resident techie and in fact her favorite part of being a veterinary assistant is the technical side and working in the lab which we are all grateful for. She enjoys nature photography, science, and video games in her spare time.

Meet Angel
Angel is a veterinary assistant that just celebrated her one-year anniversary at East Ridge Animal Hospital. Her favorite part of her job is learning about animal behavior and helping pets in her community. In her spare time, she enjoys playing video games and is a proud dog mom to her 2-year-old chihuahua mix, V***n. Angel has had such a PAWSitive impact on our team and I hope you will join us in celebrating her one year milestone!

Sweet boy R***r came in for his first visit with Dr. Meaghan and was an absolute PERFECT gentleman! He’s got a clean bill of health, and we are excited to have him as part of our ERAH family!

Did you know: While the Irish Wolfhound as a breed is considered to be the tallest of all dogs, the current title for world’s tallest dog is held by a Great Dane named Zeus who was 44 inches tall, and stood a whopping 7 feet and 4 inches when he stood on his back legs!

Dr. Andrew Durden was born in Marquette Michigan. He received both his bachelors degree and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014 Magna Cum Laude. While in school he received awards for excellence in both veterinary ophthalmology and oncology. He and his wife, Samantha, have two cats. While not at work he enjoys running, reading, cooking, and football. His professional interests include dermatology, preventative medicine, internal medicine, feline medicine, and bulldog medicine.

Today, we had four special visitors from McKamey Animal Center!!

Gazelle, Giraffe, Meerkat and Hyena all needed to be spayed and neutered before they could find their forever homes. MAC reached out to the veterinary community in Chattanooga for help since they are SO busy this time of year, and your ERAH family stepped in along with many other clinics in the area to offer our surgical suites and surgeons to help MAC catch up and get these kiddos ready to start their new lives.

Dr. Meaghan supervised and assisted our preceptor, Hannah, during the three neuters and one spay. You may have seen Hannah in the office already. She is with us for 8 weeks, which is ALL that stands between her and becoming a DVM after 8 years of hard work in the classroom and in the clinic!!! We are so excited to be a part of her journey.

We’re also thrilled to say all four surgeries were routine, and these adorable pups are already on their way back to MAC to find their forever homes. Maybe even with one of our clients?! We’d love to see these guys again 😍

We are thankful for the work that MAC and all our local shelters and rescues put into making sure the Chattanooga animal population is cared for. We are always happy to lend a hand to such an important organization when we can.

Special thanks to one of our assistants, Bailey, who volunteered her time today to assist with surgical prep and anesthetic monitoring. It was a fun morning at ERAH!
