Dixie’s back!

Due to no fault of her own, Dixie is back at the shelter. She is as fabulous as ever, so if you missed out on your opportunity to adopt her, now’s your chance!!

Dixie is a 4 year old bloodhound. She is a handsome girl and a little on the small side for a bloodhound.

Dixie is very sweet, mild-mannered & knows her name. She knows sit & give paw. She’ll come to you and lean against you for cuddles.

Although small for a bloodhound, Dixie can pull when out for a walk but she is manageable with a harness. Typical of a hound, her nose is usually to the ground when on walks!

Good morning, it’s been a very difficult time for our rescue. Fosters are extremely difficult to find and we still have so many cats and dogs that need foster or adoption. These guys have been posted for adoption for a long time, with little to no interest. Why? Well as awesome as they are they may not be initially social. They may hide , maybe even hiss but with time they will love you and seek you out. They will surround you with nothing but unconditional love and devotion. They need adopters or fosters that understand this and so far that hasn’t been the case. These are just some of them. If your interested in fostering or adopting please email me at [email protected]

All Gods Creatures inc a foster based animal rescue. We are new hope partners with NY. What does that mean? It means we have the ability to pull animals that are not acclimating well or have medical concerns from the shelters in NY. They are listed as rescue only in the shelter. We typically work with small dogs. Example of behavior that deems them rescue only are hard barking, lunging, growling, resource guarding, leash bitting, touch sensitivity, under socialized, fear, they don’t get along with other animals, stranger reactivity and or a prior bite history. That being said it takes a lot of special people who have experience dealing with this types of behaviors to pull these types of dogs. Prior bite histories are tough. Why? Because the potential to bite again is always there. Other behaviors with time and effort could be resolved or managed. Sometimes they just need out of the shelter. It’s these behaviors that put animals at risk for euthanasia in our area. Lots of people are appalled by this. It is extremely sad and absolutely heart breaking. Being appalled is not enough, liking, sharing a post is not enough. the only way to save these guys is to foster a small dog with behavior or medical issues. That’s what saves them. I’ve pleaded and I’ve begged for foster volunteers but we can’t even get foster volunteers for sweet and social small dogs. I can’t be the only one that can work with these types of behaviors. We need foster volunteers. As a foster volunteer we provide food, supplies, and medical care. The fosters provide a safe place, shelter, love, time and basic training. It takes a village, without foster volunteers we can’t help. If your interested please email me at [email protected] We are located in Mercer county NJ. Fosters should be within a 30 mile distance, for ease of medical care, events and adoption.

All Gods Creatures inc Update on Zeus, He is a 2 year old neutered male. He has tested negative for heartworm and is UTD on vaccinations. He was pulled of the euthanasia list in NY for a prior bite. Once he got to us he lived with his trainer in his home for 2 weeks. He is a very sweet boy who is not aggressive by nature but Abrupt sounds would scare him senseless. He has been fostered with me for about 3 weeks in East Windsor NJ now and what I can tell you is he gets along with cats and other dogs. This is a blended family and he has now been handled by everyone that lives here and has been sweet. Around strangers he is happy and sweet. He has lots and lots of energy so I decided to buy an small obstacle course for him. On leash he can jump over and through these obstacles. He is crate trained and house trained. He walks well on a leash and knows sit, come and stay. He does need a fully fenced in yard and because of his energy needs to be walked daily. Adoptions

UPDATE These are the bottle babies that came to us last week. All were extremely ill with intense upper respiratory infections. All have severe eye infections one babies eye lens ruptured and will need eye removal surgery once older. These guys are on antibiotics twice daily and two types of antibiotic eye ointments with eyes being treated 4 times daily. They are drinking formula from a bottle extremely well and one is even eating dry moistened kitten food on a regular basis now. They are currently extremely active and purr the minute you look at them and storm the gate for attention and love. These babies are at a challenging time in there life weighing only .48 at there intial vet visit but I’m pleased to tell you as of yesterday they weight .68 which is wonderful to see. At this point it’s difficult to say if the others vision will be impaired as all there eyes still require me to use a warm compress just to open there eyes in order to apply there antibiotic ointments.
