We witnessed magic last night at the Chuck's Pups Inc annual golf outing! Chase and his service dog Hazel were reunited after she spent several months in training with Above the Standard Dog Training. Hazel is a Rogue x Samson puppy, and she greeted Chase with such a beautiful blend of her parents’ mannerisms that it moved me to tears. We are so grateful to know, befriend, and collaborate with such amazing people!

Today we went on a very special mission: to bring “as many dogs as possible” to visit one of our favorite people in our favorite assisted living community that we visit every week. Today is her 85th birthday! Also, shoutout to my ten year old helpers! They each worked at least two dogs, and we could not have done it without them!! #happybirthday #85 #therapydog #therapoodles #poodleparty #poodleparade #juniorhandler

Rufus is learning parlor tricks along with his basic manners. He’s a little guy, and he likes to stand up, but he can’t put his paws on people if he’s going to be a therapy dog, so this is our compromise.

A blast from the past! 🐩💗💥 ChaseyPoo loved visiting this rehab and memory care facility. The voice you hear in the background is Hippolyta. She would come out of her room in the memory care section of the facility to make sure she didn’t miss the dog, but staff said she didn’t come out much otherwise. They would get near teary-eyed over her singing to him and talking to him, because she was so withdrawn at other times. She would sing to him about how beautiful he is, and then she would tell me to go feed him. I was looking for a specific puppy picture this morning when I saw this. I’m so glad I captured these moments, because it was right before the world shut down. I got to visit maybe one more time in person, and then we waved through the windows one other time during the pandemic, but Chase passed and so did many of my friends in the facility before we were able to resume visits. (Chase was panting because memory care is kept warm and it was one of the last stops on our visits.)

Our hearts are so full! We are grateful for the privilege to watch Rogue transform from a loving and silly dog into an amazing mother. That smile at the end was because Robbie came in. Rogue and Robbie have always had a special bond. Today was such a wonderful day! Our friends at @brookdaleliving in Florence put on a baby shower for our pregnant dogs, Rogue and Sugar Magnolia, while Samson got groomed.
